I Have Teh Same Feeling Vinny. Can't Wait.
And while I can't speak directly for Benjamin,
I practically guarantee it will be worth the wait.

It's going to be a big fall for me. New baby girl, and Benjamin's book!
And yes, I'm more excited about the kid, but Benjamin's book will be a nice distraction while rocking said kid to sleep!!!

When I get the shipping notification from Amazon, I'm going to scream like a woman and then run around the room giggling.
A countdown clock would be a cool idea.

I had the pleasure of lunching with Mssrs. Holcomb and Chatlin last weekend in LA. Saw a few previews of the book and it's just jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Get two copies, because you'll ruin the first one with your drool.

I leave for vacation on October 12th. If this comes in before then, you can be sure I will be dragging this on the plane with me, much to my wife's dismay (but probably a bit more appreciation, since even she was impressed with the early previews from last year).

Hmm, I've already preordered two but that was because I wanted a copy for carrying around and one for the library at home. I hadn't counted on the "drool factor" so perhaps I should go order another one...

I'm definitely pre-ordering one.
How about an autographed edition? Benjamin, if you're reading this, can we send our books to you for signature?

It hasn't hit me yet. I'm not feeling it. Afraid that when it does, when the book is in my hands, I'll lose it completely. Anyone ever seen that horror film In The Mouth of Madness with Sam Neill?
Ahhh-haa-ha-haaa! Ahhh-haa-ha-haaa! Ahhh-haa-ha-haaa! Ahhh-haa-ha-haaa! Ahhh-haa-ha-haaa! Ahhh-haa-ha-haaa!

So what is the latest release date?
Amazon.com has it listed as October 25th.
Amazon.com has it listed as October 25th.
First of all, I want to thank you guys for the awesome rah-rah-cheer thread. I have been on holiday for over a week now (without computer access), and it was a real pleasure to return and find this thread of anticipation.
Unfortunately, I don't think the book will actually be available in October. In fact, I don't know that it will be out even by November! As the author, I have surprisingly little control over these issues, and my hands are tied. The last I heard, it will be late November/early December before anyone sees the book.
What's killing me is the fact that a very large contingent of fans will see the book before I see the book. If you pre-ordered the book on Amazon.com, for example, you will see the book before me.
Ugh!
As weird as it may sound, I am looking forward to this publication as much as you guys are. And sometimes, it feels like I know only as much about the publication as the next guy. Frustrating to say the least. I'll leave it at this:
First guy to lay hands on the book, please post here about it. Maybe we can have fun and make a contest around it. Something like, "'what's pictured in the upper right hand corner of page 238?' Be the first to answer and you win a prize..." LOL. What do you think?
Benjamin
p.s. I don't remember what's actually pictured on page 238, so if you guys wanna run a contest, I'll have to go back and review the book pages and determine a contest with rules. Heh.

Aw man, we gotta wait 6 weeks longer? :wall:
It's worth the wait tho, but the anticipation is slowly killing me.
But I like your idea of a contest. I ordered through Amazon, but I doubt I'll be the first to get your book :wink_y:
Oh, and how come you, the author, will get your book later? Makes no sense at all to me

As someone who owns quite a few Twomorrows books, I know the sting of delays. I think every Twomorrows books misses its original release date. Most not by much, but enough to make antsy fanboys cry in their sleep. The price paid for the quality of the books, and relative small size of the company I guess.
But you know what, its always worth the wait. And this book will be no exception. In fact, I'd wait another year for this book. I don't want to, but I would!!!
I like the idea of a contest Benjamin! Sounds fun!
Oh and congrats again!

Hey,
I ordered the hard cover edition, but I need to order two of the soft cover editions - one for me and one for a friend.

Chris, please know that there IS NO SOFT COVER EDITION of the book. A limited print run, every first edition copy will be a hardcover book. I wouldn't hold my breath for a second edition (or soft cover version). If you want an extra copy or two, the only guaranteed edition is the hardcover.
Luckily, this first edition hardcover is cheaper than dirt on Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/MEGO-Super-Heroes-Worlds-Greatest-Toys/dp/1893905829/ref=gfix-ews-form/105-9712363-3357241).
OK, maybe it's not cheaper than dirt, but it's certainly an affordable way to 'own' all of the glorious Mego Super-Heroes depicted in the book!
