Yeah, this is one I loved as a kid, and it still holds up as an adult. The remake was garbage.

I wouldn't say it was garbage, but it wasn't a remake either. They changed way too many things, it was almost like a new movie.
But nothing beats the original :wink_y:

Saw FYE had it in with a bunch of other classic horror movies in a DVD set. Goes for about twenty bucks.

I have both on dvd and love both of 'em. The original is William Castle brilliance and a good scare. The remake i didn't like as well but enjoyed nonetheless... they should have made it longer and included a bunch of the deleted scenes-it would have rocked hard if they did that!
Loved House !!!!! ......
For Trek fans, co-star Elisha Cook was also Kirk's lawyer in Court Martial.

I think that House on Haunted Hill (newest release) was awesome. I seen it when it first came out at the movies. I later purchased it on DVD as well. I have watched it a "few" times now and still have not tired of seeing it. I like the House. I want one! I did not realize at the time I watched the new movie that there was even an older original House on Haunted Hill movie. I have yet to see the original so the jury is still out on the original movie for me.
Happy Megoing!

Is that the movie that's based on "The Haunting of Hill House," by Shirley Jackson? I've never seen the movie, but I loved the book.

del...I think the Shirly Jackson reference is simply called "The Haunting". It too is a very good haunted house movie but is way more psycological and grown up.Lots of scarry noises...well worth a watch!
