Then I guess you'll be steering clear of the science fiction forum and all of the Doctor Who threads in there.

Interesting tea experience I had recently: there's a new store in our high-end mall - Teavana. It sells nothing but tea and tea accessories. I stopped in because I like to try different blends, and they have a nice variety. Unfortunately, unlike Starbucks which tries to help novices to understand coffee lingo/culture, Teavana tries to make customers feel stupid and/or poor.

I wanted to sample a blend, and saw one in the catalogue that was $6 for whatever size. When I asked for it, the clerk weighed out a portion, "$18. Is that enough?"

"Uh, I only want the $6 size, please."

"Ooohh. That's the minimum." (shades of Office Space)

He then rings me up, "That will be $16 with our storage tin."

"Yeah, um - I think I'll pass on the tin."

"What do you plan to store your tea in?"

"My desk at work?"

"No, no, no. You'll need a special container for tea storage."

"Oh. OK - I have plenty of tins at home." (prick)

So, I won't be going back. Too bad, because the tea was really good. However, I found an independent store run by some pretty cool people, and it also sells good tea. Russian Earl Grey hits the spot.

You want conflict, my family has been in the Dunkin Donuts chain since "71". I grew up with nothing but coffee. I now run distribution for a gourmet tea company. I walk in every morning with a large coffee and sit and sell tea all day long. I actually ship to a couple of customers over in the UK.
