Yes they are but newer releases now have them with English subtitles.....Plus they're really action orientated so really you can follow it easy.

LOL! I hear ya I'm the Same...I usually have the subtitles on when I watch my spanish flicks because everyone has their way of saying things that sometimes I don't get.

Santos and the Vampire Women is one of my faves on MST3K. Blockbuster online has a few available that I am waiting to get.

Count me as a huge fan of El Santo and knock offs like SuperArgo. I've even managed to catch a few of those on UHF channels really late at night, Santo was getting kind of old but they're still fun.

Samson (Santo) and the Vampire Women was great. I've wanted to see some of the old movies, but have never tracked them down.
Isn't there a new movie coming out along this same line? I'm thinking it's got Blue Demon Jr. in it, but it's been a while since I saw it talked about so I'm not sure.

Rob Zombie has a project called "Superbeasto" that is essentially an animated homage to the wrestling film.

A good way of seeing these movies is if your Local library has movies they might carry them so you can actually take them out and check if they intrest you.My Local Library has a whole bunch of them so I've been able to check them out before buying them.....

That's it. In the shot where the luchadors are walking, I saw Blue Demon in the front and thought he was the star for some reason. Still, if it's got Mil, Blue Demon, and Hijo del Santo in it (and I think I spotted Dos Caras Jr, too - or is that the original Dos Caras?) I'm definitely going to have to track this one down.

That's the original Dos Caras his Son is much Taller and more buffed...Don't know if they ever released the movie.
The Santo movies and the whole genre can be a lot of fun. I like the wild imagination of
the film makers.

When I was little, my friend and I would watch these on a spanish channel... we had no idea what they were saying. I remember we would cut eye holes in paper sacks and collor them up with markers, then we'd tuck our pants into our socks and make like we had boots on. I hadn't thought of these movies in many years.

I really love these flicks as a kid.
As many of you know, I lived in Mexico from ages 7-14...and we all used to go to the movie theater and watch all these luchadores movies on Saturday morning matinee...it was lots of fun. Then after the movies, we all gathered around and played soccer all day, lol.
Those were the days.
I loved el Santo, but my favorite was always Blue Demon...I used to call him bow-legged Demon, lol.
Now as an adult, I don't like them as much because while the concept if very cool (luchadores vs monsters, etc,), I find the actual fights tedious and repetitive...they go on, and on, and on, and on...
Ah...but those were the days.
