    R-R-R-R-AW Power

I can remember the exact moment I saw this, it was pretty important afterall, it was a device that made your bike sound like a motorcycle. Screw want, I needed this dammit, it was important.
My parents reviewed my case and shot it down claiming "Safety issues" when pressed further I pretty much got some sort of goofy answer like "People might think you're a motorcycle" it made zero sense.

Fortunately for me, none of the neighbourhood kids got one either, so I didn't have a constant reminder. The odd kid would cruise by the cul-de-sac I grew up on with one but it was rare.

I have a commercial for this on tape and I started looking on Ebay for it, but never found it. I never knew anyone w/ one when I was a kid though.

I had the same overwhelming need for one of these AND the same relief that no one I knew got one. Maybe they did n't sell too well despite their amazing level of cool. I remember my mom also thinkngt that somehow these created an unacceptable level of danger. Is it possible that a toy that created such an immediate frenzy in kids was actually killed by the reacting parents?!?!? What was the price on these things?

BTW, I did once find one of these on ebay and it sold for a pretty decent price.

Forgot all about these, but upon seeing this, the memory of the pure need to have hit me, too. Also, I did not get one, either.
        It's all good!

I had one of those and had forgotten about it. Funny, my 5-year-old nephew just got a Hot Wheels-themed bicycle that has an updated version on the handlebar with a fake tachometer.

I had one of these bad boys back in the day on my Schwinn. The concept was great, the execution was spotty at best. Once it got wet, it didn't quite have the same sound as before. Unlike the kid in the picture there, I had mine attached so that the sound box was pointing down towards the ground, rather than pointing forward.

And that kid looks like he's just lost his last shred of sanity at seeing funky black letters floating up out of his new toy.
