Hey all!

Just put a spotlight up for the Arcturian at my site yesterday-

http://www.apieceoftheaction.net/2010/04/mego-spotlight-arcturian-3-motion.html

And in case you missed them, here's a link to my previous TMP 3.75" spotlights-

Thanks for sharing those links. Nice to see this line get some much needed love. Those photographs you took really capture this line perfectly. I had most of the crew as a kid and agree that the face sculpts, given the scale of the figures, were pretty well done. I think the two drawbacks on this line were the lack of cool accessories and the limited articulation - but as to articulation it isn't like Kenner was doing much more with Star Wars at the time. That Enterprise looks like it was a pretty cool playset. I will probably try to reacquire some of these figures down the road.

It's a shame Playmates Toy's return to 3 3/4" scale Star Trek figures thirty years after these weren't really much of an improvement! It would have been nice to see something to display right next to all of my Star Wars figures! Maybe 2012 will see more success for the line and hopefully the inclusion of all the other variations of Star Trek over the years. I'm waiting for, at the very least the inclusion of TOS and TNG in this scale, but I'd be ecstatic if they went all out with a Star Trek Legacy line!

I was just digging around today and I found probably 30 of these figures some were TNG Galloob, but most of them were TMP, some crappy some imaculate but all were awesome. They were in my middle console in my Truck LOL

Wow, those are some great reviews and nice pictures. Currently I only have the Kirk from this line but hope to someday get the rest. ST:TMP is my favorite Trek movie by far.

TMP's my favorite Trek film as well.. As for the Mego figs, I always thought Spock's ears were a bit TOO big, but all in all, outstanding sculpts..! I agree that Decker was a bit vague for details, but that's forgivable, seeing how well the others were done.

Aw, these are just TOO cool! And any reason you have action figures from 1980 in your truck compartment? There has to be a good story there...

re dekker i think that MEGO were really truying to make the motion picture figures different from each other- to think about it- appart from kirk they all wear the same uniform but that yellow suit and brown shoe combo they gave dekker- sheesh- no wonder he fried himself.

I don't know why I keep reading potablog as "Planet of the Apes blog." Wrong franchise!

I agree with you they should've at least included phasers. Huge oversight.

Why not shrink some 12" phasers?

This was one of my favorite lines as a kid. Today it still is and among my favorite toys in my collection.

That's actually a good idea Dave. However you could always take the phasers from the Ertl 3.75" Star Trek 3 line.

I lost a bid on a loose one on EBay but I know folks need 12" replacement phasers. I figured why not?
The Star Trek 3 Phaser ( SPock and Scotty only?) is the wrong style.

Playmates made one for the Star Trek Classics figures but I thought it was over sculpted.

Still, NO phaser is better than something silly like, I dunno having a phaser permantlly molded in a hand . :confused2:

( "Politically Correct Trek" my Butt! one hand had a gun the other cocked in a fist GALOOB ! :7:)

That's really nice. I've always thought the design of the Klingon Bird of Prey was spectacular, and you're right--for the time it was made, Mego did a great job on it.

Hello. This is my first post here. I collect 3.75 inch/ 1/18 scale figures- Trek and superheroes. Trek was and is my first love. I have all of these but the Betelgeusian, and at some point would like to att the playset. I also have some customs I have done and will be posting as I learn my way around.

"The moon, Captain."
"But, thats impossible. There is no Earth."
"Nonetheless, this is Earth's moon."
