Anyone else do this today? What did you score?
Didn't get what I wanted. Two things: The Beatles single and the Devo blue Energy Dome.
But it was great being in records stores going through vinyl.

Closest decent record store by me is in Princeton which is a good 50 mile trek.
There used to be a collectible record store near me but it folded up about 10 years ago.
Shame too ... the guy once hooked me up with some Pink Floyd Tower 45's

Not today... we regularly go to this pretty cool shop in Orlando, Rock & Roll Heaven.
They carry everything... and they have a dollar record section too, for us cheapies.

I love 45 for that reason! I have a pretty modest collection though.
I'm lucky enough to live by a few great record shops, but I'm always broke!

Vinyl still is a better medium than digital, CD's etc. , music. Vinyl gives you more bass and a warmer sound than CD's do...it's just that simple.
I keep missing this Record Store/Album/Vinyl day each year. Something always comes up. Missed it again this year. I can tell you I miss my old Record stores like "It's Only Rock n Roll" in the Village in Manhattan. As well as Second Coming Records. Hell, I even miss Tower Records when they had Vinyl. Vinyl is making a comeback and Record Plants have ramped up production. I think I saw a report on Nightline a few months back stating that Vinyl sales have skyrocketed in the last 2 years. I just wish that the so called "New" old releases that they are putting out of classic LP's weren't the "Newly Re-Mastered" versions of those LP's. The Engineers that are re-mastering these days don't know their heads from their arses when it comes to re-mastering. Everything is re-mixed/re-mastered to the point of distortion on the newer re-masters.

I love record jackets, just hate the records. Rice Crispy in my music annoys me. Snap Crackle Pop and some guitar. I have a couple rare records. I've got a test pressing of the Doctor Demento's Delights album from 1975. I think Iron Maiden has some of my favorite album covers. Especially Killers. Great album.
