High school football is just huge in Texas. I don't want to bash texans and I'm probably wrong here but in Texas all they do is basically play/watch football. Alot of rural towns where nothing goes on and all they do is practice football and the main event of the week is Friday night lights.

cypress, texas (a suburb in houston) built a 72 million dollar stadium.

that's probably the only school in town, my HS had about 4000 students and it's not that big, we played football at tropical park which is like a city Park with a big football field
