There is a street just outside my city called Oxbow Road. There a story about a guy who was hung from one of the trees by his neighbors for doing something awful (I can't remember what now). Supposedly if you drive down it during a full moon your car will stall.

However my friends and I tried it several times back in highschool and nothing happened.

I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

The 25 foot long, great white shark that supposedly prowls the kelp beds of my favorite, local dive spot. I've seen some decapitated seals in the area, but most likely the victim of a boat prop...

La Llorona...man...she used to scare the heck out of me when I lived in Mexico...lol.

For all of those who don't know...the basic story is that La Llorona was a beautiful woman who killed her children to be with the man that she loved and was subsequently rejected by him. He might have been the children's father who had left their mother for another woman. She drowned the children and then, after being rejected anyway, killed herself. She is doomed to wander, vainly searching for her children for all eternity. Her constant weeping is the reason for her name. In some cases, according to the tale, she will kidnap wandering children or children who misbehave...

The other one in Mexico is el Caballo del Diablo (the devil's horse)...

It's a big black horse that does horrible things.

...and of course...the newest one...el Chupacabras.

Not really a monster, but we have an area called Toad Road. There was supposedly an asylum located there that burned down and now it's just populated with crazy otherworldly stuff. And according to some, if you go the whole way down the road, you'll go through seven gates - the last of which takes you to Hell. I've done a lot of exploring the area, and the only real danger is the gun-weilding owners of the property on which you're trespassing.
I also live fairly close to Gettysburg, and everyone talks about how haunted it is. Never seen anything there either.

Back in the 70's we actually had a few Bigfoot sightings here in northern Jersey.

I still remember one incident a school teacher seen him outside the school window and ran after him ....

Bigfoot ditched the teach by hiding out in a local abandoned mine.

It was actually in the local papers
