Target iPhone App - A Must For Toy Collectors

Dunno if anybody has seen this yet or not, but I did a little brief review of Target's improved iPhone app. Why is this important for toy collectors? Well they've added some basic DCPI scanning funtionality to let you know if items are in stock at your local stores, store locators to see if they are in stock nearby and even price and aisle locators. That would be handy...especially if it were expanded to include TRU

I already know they don't have what I'm looking for:

          Non-pegwarmer JLU
          Imaginext Robin plane
          B&B Firestorm & Guy Gardner

          Cool app though.

Heck I was excited last week to buy a $1.00 pocket booklet from my comic shop that you could check off your collection in.

Used to have to make my own.

              Scanning items yourself in Target?

Bad enough I have to make my own Pepsi at the resturants !

              I WILL NOT BECOME BORG!

                Worst Place for a Mirror?

Two. one in front , and one behind the "Throne"

That way you would have to watch yourself sit there for infinity!

In fact with the Flourecent lights and things that happen there I dont think Bathrooms should even have mirrors!

What do you think. Worst place for a Mirror?

OOPs my bad meant to start a new thread. Pay no attention here

A couple of questions about this app:
                  1. Does it tell you about a specific figure, or just if the store has some of that line? Ie, can I find out if they have a DCUC Doctor Fate, or just that there are some DCUC figures on the pegs?
                  2. Can I get the DCPI codes without going to the store?
                  3. Is there any way to cross-reference figures in the same line? If I get to Target and they only have one character from a line, can I use the app to find out if there are other characters in that Target or another, even if it has to be within the same wave/case assortment?
Hey! Where's the waiter with the water for my daughter?

                    1. Unfortunately this works off of Target's system. Target's system uses only one code for products. So all DCUC are considered the same. So you couldn't find out about specific figures from a line.

                    2. Yeah, although more often than not you have ask around on forums. But you can manually enter in DCPIs if you have them.

                    3. Sadly this goes back to the first thing. Target typically puts all the figures in a line as one DCPI, so you can't do that.

It'd be great if they at least told you how many were in stock (which is what the store scanners do) but they don't have that available at the moment. Still I think the potential is there that we may eventually get some more functionality out of it.
