I love Badfinger. I got into them during my heavy Beatles phase when I was 15 or 16, being they were on Apple Records. I love the stuff from the film The Magic Christian, I think McCartney wrote "Come and Get It" if I'm not mistaken. One of those bands that just never quite got over the top despite enormous talent. I think there was lots of infighting etc.

It's weird. They would have never been Badfinger without the Beatles, but I wonder if they would have been more successful without the Beatles?
          It's all good!

            I don't think so.

Badfinger was VERY talented, but a lot of their success was due to pure luck being associated with the Beatles.

You don't think that a lot of people expected them to become the next Beatles after the Beatles split?

                One of my favorite songs.
Reminds me of rainy days in my room during the 70's.
Never thought I would be sharing the thought.
                Thanx for bringing this up.

One of my all time favorite bands. I posted about them before. Too bad Peter Ham killed himself. He was one huge talent. Baby blue, come and get it, day after day are songs I play every day. VERY underrated band.

Have to respectfully disagree. I like that album...but in my opinion "Wish You Were Here" is their best LP.

The shame of it all was the mess that they were in because of their manager basically stealing their advances and embezling all of the money they made in concerts. Warner was forced to pull both of their LP's off the racks...I still don't understand the reason why. Great band that was one of the defining "Power Pop" groups of the early 70's. Very sad story. The documentary of the band "Without You" is just sad...you really feel for them. Sadly enough...only one member left in Joey Molland. If there's a group that belongs in the Rock Hall Of Fame it's them.

Big fan here. I have the first bootleg of the Badfinger on CD. This was back in '85 when bands started getting pressed on CD so bootleggers decided to press best of Badfinger tracks on CD.
Love The Iveys and huge fan of Straight Up.
