This is too cool. Jun Planning has released Nightmare Before Christmas figures with screen-printed clothes in 8" scale! They have a simplified quality (at least compared to Jun's other stuff) that makes them look kind of Mego-y. They've released 4 so far in the first series. And the best part is, they're only $20 each! Pretty sweet...

They are definitely cool on their own, but I really hope that Pumpkin King head will work for customs.
Damn, those look cool indeed

Imagine the fat bodies they'd have to use for Oogie and Santa.

20$ for something like that from sideshow? i dont believe it
Not only from Sideshow, but with SS as a distributor for another company (Jun Planning).
That's a couple of more steps on the retail price trail.
WOW! :terror: Those are awesome! Count me in!
Got my Jun Planning set in today. They are really cool. It is amazing what you can get for $20 bucks. I had a bunch of SS bucks tucked away, so this set was virtually free (if you don't count all the do re mi I spent on the SS troops and Vader.)
will try to post pics later on.

Yes definitely post some pics! This was going to be an instant buy for me but the timing went bad, financially speaking. I've been going back and forth... I mean, they're only 20 bucks! But there's other stuff I want to buy in the pipeline, funds are limited... I dunno... :juggleyes_y:
These probably aren't ever going to sell any cheaper than what they're going for now.

I love that Jack Skelington. Shame it is 9.75 inches.

^ I guess 8" would fit in better with most of my collection than almost 10".
jack is taller and skinnier than a regular person. I don't know what scale these are. Sally is people sized. I will measure her when I crack her open this eve.

I got my set of 4 a few days ago. They look so nice in the package that I haven't opened them yet.
I haven't broke her loose yet, but SS says Sally is 8" tall. So that might be just a little taller than mego scale, but should fit right in.
The boxes are awesome, and the pack-ins are great as well. Sally especially. Best toy bargain of the year.

If anyone opens them, it would be great if we could get pics of them standing next to Mego.

^ Yes, indeed, I would too!
OK, not all of them out. I gotta birthday party to do tomorrow and I can't spend all night with MY toys. :smiley1:
But here are some shots of the coolio new NBX from Jun Planning. They are just a hair bigger than the 1:9 mego scale. Works for me.
have a good time.

The only thing I don't like is the twisties holding everything down. Can't stand those things.
The first shot is the base of the chrome stand included in the Jack and Sally boxes for those figs with teeny feets. Pretty nice pack in.
The last two shots are a comparison of the NECA and new Jun Pumpkin King. The Jun is about a half inch taller. So, I would guess the Neca versions are more to scale with Mego, tho I have not ever put one side by side. I will have to try that later. The NECA figures are awesome and very screen accurate, but I must say this Sally with the cloth dress is one of my favorites.
Very cool figures, great packaging, neat pak-ins, and all for $20 smakaroos. oh yeah.

That Mayor might make a cool base for a Penguin custom.

Very nice...thanks so much for the pictures! I guess it's obvious I haven't seen it...I will have to rectify that!

always on the lookout BK:wink:
I don't think you would want to use this guy. He is static from the waist down. Better off with the couple of cobblepots that came by the customs forum lately.
Unless you are eyeing the jacket.

Ha ha great pictures rche! I love the one with Jack peeking out behind the package, like he was working in the back and heard someone come in. Jack looks really tall, even for his own scale. He towers over Sally, but maybe that's accurate to the film, can't really remember even though I've seen it a dozen times. Sally looks about as tall as Mego but with larger proportions. The figures look great -- high quality stuff especially for 20 bucks.
