    Men of Plush

Those that know me, know of my fondness for plush superheroes, especially stuff like the mego super softies. I've always found these late seventies characters from Knickerbocker to be terrific but I'm perplexed by the exclusion of Batman, Batman always gets picked for the team!

I have a Star Trek Kirk & Spock from this line.
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

Actually, it's not hard to figure out why Batman didn't make the cut: in the late 1970's, he was the only one of the Big Four (Superman, Batman, Spider-Man, and the Hulk) who had neither a current TV show or movie.

This is probably the only line of 70s toys where Batman is absent and Superman present. Often times, Batman would win over Supes. Just look at all the AHI Batman offerings.

Batman was still on TV on the Super Friends and in perpetual reruns of the 77 Filmation series as part of "Tarzan and the Super 7" or whatever it was named that year. And of course the reruns of the live action show were still going strong.

I first saw this Spidey at a flea market in the 80s and thought that he looked like the live-action TV Spidey. With the shiny eyes and spindly body.
