Hello, Everyone.

I just finished the Season 1 DVD set of The Rockford Files.

I thoroughly loved it! There is no one better than James Garner at conveying humor in dramatic situations.

I'm looking forward to getting the other seasons on DVD, as I didn't really watch the show as a kid. I got into it while watching a few eps when TV Land aired them at night a few years back.

Blooper Alert: in the episode "The Case is Closed" with Sharon Gless, Rockford is shown driving along in his usual gold Firebird. Then, suddenly, his Firebird is a newer model with square headlights instead of round ones! It happened twice in the ep. I guess they had to shoot additional road chase scenes. It probably would've worked if they'd only shown the car from the side and hadn't shown the front of the car.

I recommend the set highly! There's also an interview with James Garner as a bonus.

Some of the guest stars from Season 1:

I've always been a big Rockford fan and try to catch it whenever I can when it pops up on TV. Didn't know the DVD was out...may have to check it out.

My parents watched it so I did as well (being in the 70's and having only one TV in the house.) I love James Garner, so I'll have to hunt this down for my Ma! Cool beans didn't know it was out.

I'll have to go look for the Rockford Files on DVD. That was the one show my Grandmother loved, and I can remember sitting with her and watching it with her. Alot of good memories

Thanks for the response, folks. I'm glad to hear that others like ol' Rockford, too!

Gosh you have a keen eye K.

Thanks, but that scene really jumps right out at you. It's so obvious! I have no idea why they showed the car's front/grille! Seems silly.

Actually there are FOUR Seasons of Rockford DVDs out now! I received the first season as a Christmas gift and just got around to viewing them. I'm definitely going to get the others, though.

I bought season 1 when it came out (over a year ago) and haven't had a chance to start to watch it yet. I'll get the other seasons after I watch the first.

^ I was in the same boat! I got S1 for a Christmas gift in 2005 and only now got around to watching it. With so much lousy stuff on TV, it was really a refreshing change. I just ordered the other seasons (2, 3, and 4) and I hope to get them soon.

Well, I get classic TV on DVD as a matter of course. I think I got RF around the time I got something else and watched something else first, then it just got delayed and delayed. But I love 60's/70's crime dramas. I just got season 1 of Ironside, haven't seen that show in years. Raymond Burr rocks!

I've been meaning to pick this up as I was always a fan of the show. I stayed at my Granny's every Friday and watched it.
