    Super Joe 1978 Catalog

They fight by night with the power of light! I really fun one today the 1978 section of the Hasbro catalog devoting to SuperJoe, G.I. Joe's futuristic kick at the can. Joe took a four year holiday after this, come see why! Also come check out our newly redesigned website, now with 50% more smooth.

Thanks for the catalogue page scans, Brian. I'm a fan of these figures, so the pages were an absolute treat to see!

How in the world did that Gabriel Lone Ranger sculpt end up in so many lines? Super Joe, 12" Robin, Angels Patient. Did a freelance sculptor just keep shopping this generic base sculpt around?

Cool catalog. This line looks quite ahead of it's time. Too bad it failed. But had it succeeded, RAH may have never come to be.

          cool toys

These were some of my favorites to play along with my Megos, but these days they are in pieces.

Is there someone who repairs these? If so what do they charge to fix a figure?

Just one more sign of superheroes and science fiction taking over the landscape. I always liked Joe, but these actually appealed to me more. I have to admit I hated the outfits and accessories.

the restring is easy it's the hands that are the issue. the same cheap rubber used for all the joints was used for the entire Kung fu hand so aside from the restring you have to drill out the wrists to put a replacement hand in (the only ones I have found that work are the modern action jackson ones

they were well made at the time to be honest my Megos broke alot but Superjoes didn't but after 10 years in the attic superjoe was an amputee and kirk was just loose. Again it was a toy they never tried to make them last

Sort of but it ain't easy or fast and they don't look all that great with clothes off. I started out fixing 12" lifelike bodies and the construction is the same except smaller but the hands on lifelike 12" used a plastic joints and rubber hand, the 9" are rubber for the whole hand.

I used rubber bands with knots on the ends to secure them in the sections. If the thigh has detached from the shorts I haven't figures how to fix that yet

Wow, that's awesome! Great to have our memories back!

                      Sorry for absence,

I had Super Joe figure with black jumpsuit with each gold strips and gold power vest with push button flashing light, also I had The Gor The Terron figure and six legs green Terron with remote control in Christmas, 1977! (I know it's supposed to be released in 1978) I guess mine had prototype!!!

I don't have picture of them but I have vintage flimming camera, my father took flimmed me with six legs Terron robot. So, I put his homemade Video VHS tape in my VCR and I shot 2 pictures of them thru TV with my "Olympus" Camedia Digital camera C-725 Ultra Zoom (Optical Zoom 8 X) 3.0 Megapixel. Sorry for blur pics, next time I'll take my Video tape to the Wallgreen's to filling out some of these pics for me. So, it'll helps to clear the pictures for us to see them. When I'm finish copy of them then I'll post pics here.

                      Click on those thumbnails:

NOTE: I still have my original vintage Star Wars X-wing on the left side.

The Terron robot is on the near top & right side:

I can't remember what's in that boxes on the left side and on the top. Can you id these 2 boxes? LMK, thanks.

The Terron is on the left side:
