Size of the eyes on Wave 1 figures

Has anyone else noticed how small the eyes are on the Superman, Green Lantern, Sinestro and Luthor figures in comparison to original Megos?

Also, Sinestro's trunks seem more like speedos than trunks (shudder) and his belt seems thinner, especially if you compare them to the prototype.

Yes I have, and I wish they were bigger.

I think mego tended to overpaint the eye sockets to make the eyes look bigger. Mattel actually stays within the lines.

I haven't seen the Retro Action figures up close, but some of the Mego eyes were a bit oversized. Just look at poor Captain America, who looks as if he's having a proctology exam performed by a gorilla.

Just wait. It's early yet. More are sure to come. I personally think these figures look great! The bods are a bit crappy, but they look fantastic... especially on the card.
In the reviews I saw on youtube, Devall claims the bodies on the Mattel Retro's are an improvement over Megos! His opinion I guess.

The eyes being smaller was the one thing my 12 year old immediately shot back with, his exact words were, "Those aren't Megos! They don't have the big cartoony eyes that I love!"

I actually think Mattel has done a better job on the eyes then what Mego did. Having really big eyes as Mego figures so often did, lent a little more of a "dollish" quality to the figure. Mattel Retros stay a little truer to what action figures are meant to be by today's standards.
