New York Toy Fair Reveals Coming February 15th

    February 12, 2010
    by Matty

The granddaddy of all Toy Fairs happens annually in New York City, and this year the night of February 14th is dedicated to collectors. Our very own Toy Guru, Scott Neitlich, along with The Four Horsemen, and reps from DC, Warner Brothers, and Sony, will be on hand for an evening of toy reveals.

They’ll be unveiling new products for 2010 from all your favorite lines, including Masters of the Universe® Classics, WWE®, DCU Classics, JLU, and Ghostbusters™. Even though this is a press-only event, check back here on Monday February 15th and we’ll give you your first official look at all those awesome toys!

Get ready, because there are a ton and we can’t wait to show them all to you!
I'm sure pictures will leak out before then.

Keep an eye out on AFI and toymania - they are frequently the usual suspects for
        leakage.

AFI already has sneak peeks of several Marvel Universe figures.
No EMCE, BBP or Mattel yet

How Come Matty didn't list Retro-Action in thier List of News for the 15th ?

Toy Fair is primarly for "toy buyers/agents" from stores to view new product, so they'll know what to order for the future.

Retro-Hero figures are not for mass release, they're TRU, Diamond and select online accounts (this still confuses me on how this works exactly). So why push it in a news release? Most stores already took a pass on it probably.

Retro-Heroes is not a major toy line Mattel is making lots of money on. Very niche, and low return. They are going to push Hot Wheels, Barbie, and major Licenced lines like DC Classics and newly acquired Ghost Busters.

^^^ DC Universe, JLU , GhostBusters and MOTU are Not "Massed" Released either. Hell, Most are only Sold on thier Site ..., Or Walmart & Target "Onlys" ... There is a Glich in your Theroy.

DC Universe is sold everywhere.. it is massed produced/released.. just not that obviously obvious.

JLU has been sold for YEARS to many stores before it went to exclusive status. Even so, it's still showing up at Target, matty.com and Big Lots now. Massive following still among fans regardless.

Ghost Busters is a major cost for Mattel. Exclusives on the site, Comic Con, Hot Wheels Cars, models and I'm sure much more is coming from Toy Fair.

These properties are way more profitable for Mattel that the Retro figs is all I'm say'n'. That's why there is less of a spot light on this line.

Well, maybe Matty is just talking about stuff for the Matty site, then.
