Enough with the teasing! Here he is! This recently discovered ad from a 1973 issue of Captain America proves that our attempts to invent time travel have succeeded! Mego Museum scientists have sent the Super Collector back in time to discover the secrets
of Mego history and bring back rare artifacts in his Museum playset carrying case.

People have often said that visiting the Mego Museum is like taking a trip back in time. But now it can be said once and for all: The Mego Museum IS a time machine!https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/9116082-6067138908002752500?l=www.megomuseum.com%2Fblog%2F megoblog.html

Still on the floor laughing about the "Fruit Pies" comment.

Perfect- Love his Mego hero boots. Are they factory produced or a painted pair of AJ fishing boots?

AND yes, fruit pies were solving awkward and difficult situations long before Mentos took over that task.

Here's a thought for the MegoMeet exclusive: why not make custom Super Collectors? :wink_y: I'd definitely be in for one

In a solid box!!

I'm torn on that. Sure, it'd fit right in with this story, but you wouldn't be able to see him then

Personally, I'd want him in a solid box on a Type1 with a silkscreened suit, then in a window on a Type2 with a sewn suit. But that's my fantasy. Customizers start your engines!

So how's that for a build up? My Hostess thread was the start of it. I really enjoyed trying to make this have the same rhythm as the old ads while getting across the basic facts of the character and idea.

And this may be the first character ever created who's design actually matches Mego's boots! I'm very proud of that. This is the most DRAWING I've done in a long time! After taking all those action figure pictures for so long I was afraid I'd forgotten how to draw a super hero.

Only problem with that is the MM figures are usually done in quantities of 50. I'm thinking we'll need hundreds of this guy!

I hope you're right, but I've found that a lot of people, when it's time to pay up, suddenly aren't that interested anymore :please_y:

Absolutely great.

Will the time traveler have a arch enemy Ebay Man, who travels back in time to sell mint megos on E-bay?

^^ It certainly seems like this technology could fall into the wrong hands. SC, he only uses the playset for historical research and non-profit work (because as we all know, the Museum never makes a frikking dime! :smiley1:)

So, do we have to make our Super Collector ourselves or will there be a custom made for us to buy? With you making him at least they'll all look the same

The TV Shazam head I used (A Laurie Halbritter head, where I added hair and a couple more details) might be a good Super Collector head. Picture is big so click to see:

You should make the Mego Collector the exclusive custom figure for Mego Meet!

The Shazam head is a good one. I wondered about using the POTA Astronaut, too. Sideburns are a little heavier.
