Shaking hands with the Boy Wonder

Cat sent in this "1970something" shot of him shaking hands with none other than Burt Ward in full Robin regalia at a Rockford Car Show. Ward still looks like he jumped out of 1966 here, so it really must have been to meet Robin live and in person like that.

Lucky kids. Doesn't look like Burt Ward had changed a bit from the TV show.

I think the 60s show was almost as popular in the 70s as it was in the 60s. It was a daily phenomenon back then.

I would have loved to have seen Burt in the costume back then. He still looked the part in those cheesetastic "Legends of the Super Heroes" specials.

Burt Ward. One of my heroes! I just got the cd "Boy Wonder I Love You". Frank Zappa and Burt Ward...
I would have died to meet Robin back in the day. I liked Robin so much my Mom got me the solid box RM Robin as my first Mego.

Wonder what the deal is with Burt's hair on his left side? Looks really weird.

I met both Adam West and Burt ward in their full regalia along with one of the Batmobiles at a car show in Buffalo in the late 70's. Wish I had taken a pic like that. Never thought of it. I did get their "autographs", though.

That would have been NIRVANA..!! I remember shaking Adam West's hand in the early '80s when he did some campus circuit touring with the '66 Batman film. He had such a great handshake. Someone remembered recognizing him in the Men's Room.

But Burt Ward's Robin was always the COOLEST!
