As I sit here trapped in by lake effect snow piled up around outside I'm watching our 3 cats do laps through the house.Wound up on catnip toys or kitten chow I'm not sure which but they are all in 5th gear today. All go.The cats are great I'll agree but I have to say they are my wife's doings.Given to my own devices I might see myself having 1 on my own.But as I watch these 3 leap over everything in Hot Pursuit of they only know what,I can honestly say this not my fault. They are all wonderful and wouldn't get rid of them for anything,I will admit that.Would have as large of a pet family as you do if it was up to just you?If this gets back to my wife I will have to deny this thought ever entered my head.

When I met my girlfriend just over 5 years ago we had 1 pet each, her a dog, me a cat. Since being together we have acquired a pet at almost the rate of 1 per every 6 months. Now, 6 cats and 3 dogs, which doesn't include a cat that we lost. Nor does it include the dozens of rabbits and tropical fish that we thankfully no longer have..
We have a huge shepard
pug
Shar pei
and one black cat

Two is good enough for me. We have a pug and a shi tzu. Used to have a cat that the kids saved by nursing her back to health but she bolted out the front door Monday after a year of being indoors and have not seen her anymore.

We have no pets.....
My two girls are always asking for a dog but I know as soon as the novelty wears off I will be the one who has to get up and walk him!

No more pets for me for now. after my last two Cats passed away i kinda want to avoid the heartache of losing a pet too painful for me.
I've had 4 cats and three dogs in my lifetime...

I've got two weiner dogs.1 black and tan, 1 red.
2's enough of any pet.
Small enough family to manage, and enough for each not to be lonely.

Wouldn't have any.
We have two fish and that's enough for me.
The kids are wanting a rabbit or guinea pig. It will happen i'm sure but I have made it perfectly clear to the wife and kids that i'll have nothing to do with their upkeep. I'm just not a pet person - waste of space and time in my eyes, so there's no chance of a cat or dog in our house.

We had 3 guinea pigs but lost one last October. The pigs are my daughters and the rabbit is my yongest sons. The dog is my wifes.

3 Official Cats, Bruce, Oliver and Annie, and one Stray named Smeagol
3 Dogs - Ranger, Bullet, and Butters
2 Horses - 1 Thoroughbred Dante, and one Mustang - Rio.
If it was up to me, we'd have 2 dogs. I love them all but it gets to seem like a little much sometimes.

I have a German shepherd/border collie crossbreed, and a Jack Russell.
We got them as company for each other, but my JR basically is a people dog.
He just doesn't like the competition. He thinks he's human, and dislikes other dogs.
My shepherd is supersweet and cannot understand why the little b**terd won't play with her.
I hope they live a long and happy life (they're eleven already now), but after that? I'll stick to one dog, and take it everywhere with me. A medium-size dog.
And teach it to kill on command and chase burglars.
Nothing fancy.....

1 Budgies - Snowy (white) and Bubblegum (blue)
5 Gold Fish. . . . .this has been a shrinking population. We have probably had 25 since October 2009. . . .and no more new ones, until we are sure we have got this whole keeping goldfish thing worked out, and they stop passing on /having to be flushed away!

I adore my cat and dog, but that's enough for me. I like to give them a lot of attention and can't do that as well with more.

Great suggestion!
I was wondering what to get her for a New Year present.
I'm having it delivered tomorrow, OK?:animal-smiley-073::animal-smiley-073::animal-smiley-073:

Question: what do you want it to say on your tombstone? :wink_y: :silly:

I'm maxed out with two dogs. One an Irish Wolfhound/Collie cross, the other a Briard/Otterhound cross. Both are large. The Wolfhound-X is the Public Relations CEO of the Firm, the Briard-X is the Security.
They both take their jobs pretty seriously -- especially the Briard-X.

In the course of the last nine years, I've had 7 guinea pigs, (Mobie, Bandit, Blizzard, Moochie,Oreo, Boomer and Peanut). I think eventually, I'd like a dog, (when I have my own house). Maybe a lab or a golden retriever.
