thanks folks.
In regards to Sprangs Batcave drawing. I will be adding more and more to that one.Mego villians, etc. I wanted to slip my custom Batmobile in there, along with the tv car. To be honest, I imported the Batcycle in, couldnt figure out where to put it, and accidentally left it sitting where it is.Luckily it sort of fits in there. I have had a thing for the Brave and Bold Batmobile since I first saw it. A great mixing of the classic 40's and 50's cars with a touch or two of the sixties machine. When I found that pic of it, I had to throw it in there!!!

My take on a modern Black Hand. Instead of being a freaky necropheliac, mine is the same old Silver Age William Hand, armed with new weapons---an energy absorbing cape and medallion, and a Black Matter gun! Now, he travels the galaxy as a gun for hire, taking out Green Lanterns across the universe!!

I have them in the same positions they are in on the actual cover....or as close as I could get. Robin looks like hes out of control and heading for a wall, but Bats looks like hes going in the right direction.
I originally did this using my Mego catwoman, but she just didnt look right in the pic. I used my Julie Nwmar-ish version instead. Need to make a Golden Age one though. She would fit in better on these older covers.
Need to dig out my old Riddler and Joker for the Batcave pic too.

RETURN of the LEAGUE of LOSERS!
Some of you may recall the start of this team--Burger Baron, and CON-tractor. I posted them in customs a while back. Well, finally...after several recruiting missions, the LoL has grown by two. the first new mwmber is Mesmero. Mesmero (or Ed to his buddies) is the chubby fellow with the super thick goggles. Ed always had terrible site, and decided to try laser eye surgery in an attempt to improve his eyesight, his appearance, and his self image. Unfortunately, something horrible went wrong....Ed's eye sight was worse than ever...only......something strange and mysterious had happened. Now, when Ed puts on his special glasses (goggles) and stares someone in the eye's (he has to stare..a glance wont do), he found he had the "super power" of hypnotism! People would become mesmerized looking into those fishbowls of his, and suddenly became open to suggestion. At first he tried to be a superhero, making a costume out of an old costume he had left over from when his Grandpa played the Ghost of Christmas Future in a play at the old folks home, he became Super ED! Sadly, his first attempt at thwarting crime went horribly wrong (Ed's luck sucks!). The criminal he attempted to arrest refused to look him in the eyes, and when he started calling Ed "Special Ed" instead of "Super Ed". Of course all the people in the bank thought that was quite funny and laughed and laughed. Ed snapped. Beat the would be bank robber senseless with one of those metal posts with the rope dividers on them, and ran off with the loot.
Ed was more than happy to meet up with the LoL, and eagerly joined their evil band.
the other new member is called Mastermind. He is in reality an alien insurance salesman named Bem from the planet Zerm. Bem's hobby was ham radios (well...the Zermian equivalent, which also receives images). One night he picked up what he thought was a distress call from a distant planet called Earth. The Zermian government refused to listen to Bem's plea to send help, so he "borrowed" a Zermian Starcraft, and headed to Earth. Unfamiliar with Earth customs, Bem set off all kinds of alarms and red alerts as he landed the craft on the lawn of the Hall of justice, where he was met by a cadre of super heroes. Bem explained the situation, only to be stunned and embarassed when he found out the distress signal was in reality an old tv broadcast. After being assured Gilligan, the Skipper, and the rest were merely tv characters, and in no danger whatsoever, Bem returned to Zerm.
Unfortunately, Bem didnt just borrow any Starcraft...He inadvertently stole a top secret model, armed to the teeth with powerful new weaponry. Bem was to be charged with high treason, and killed on site.
No fool, Bem turned tail with this ship and headed back to Earth. He had a pretty good mad on by the time he got back, and used the new weapons to destroy a tv studio, and knock out many of Earths communications satellites.
Using the cloak technology of the craft, Bem hid it and decided to drown his sorrows with a strawberry milkshake (strawberries react like alcohol in the Zermian system). As it so happened, the Burger Baron decided to knock over the very burger joint Bem entered. Bem, in a somewhat intoxicated state, readily agreed to join up with the LoL on the spot....a decision he now regrets, but a Zermians word is binding. Now, he's stuck with the goofballs in the LoL.
With the addition of Mastermind and his mega technology, the LoL went from being at the bottom of the most wanted list- (absolute bottom....right under the guy who steals dog droppings from the park) - to being a serious problem for the Earths super heroes!

Copperhead at his ghost town hideout.
This is another one of those "my take on..." customs. In my DC Universe, Copperhead is a hitman for hire. Instead of bullets, he uses a high powered air rifle that fires his own noxious venom concoction. Like those bitten by a real copperhead snake, Copperheads victims die a slow agonizing death.
He is part Apache, and as such usually hides out in old ghost towns or caves in the West Texas Desert.

"Men talk of killing time, while time quietly kills them." ~Dion Boucicault
Rex Tyler had retired like the others, back when they tried to take his mask, and call him a Red. Hell, they all had. Rex actually welcomed being free from all the cloak and dagger stuff. He had overcome his addiction to the very miracle which gave him his powers. He had married, and had a son.
He was living the American dream!
...Then, in 1954, things changed. A Russian madman known as the Red Menace had begun kidnapping paranormals....and then Rex's own son. They wanted the secret to his wonder drug Miraclo, or the boy would die. Rex decided to give it to them......To shove it right down their commie throats live and in person as the HOURMAN!
(Got to have a story ;D)

Excerpt:
Over the years the Soviet Red Army had been decimated by war and civil conflict and Stalin, always in fear of losing power, needed strong and healthy soldiers. Add to that the fact that Stalin's aim and that of the Soviet Politburo, was to control the world and the spread of communism. So in 1926 they requested that the Academy of Science build a "living war machine".
According to Russian newspapers Stalin' stated, "I want a new invincible human being, insensitive to pain, resistant and indifferent about the quality of food they eat."
In answer to Stalin's request, top Soviet scientists attempted to build a hybrid human by cross breeding humans with the great apes. This experiment resulted in a few living subjects (see photo A and photo B below), but none could be considered a super soldier. Born with several birth defects, and retarded mental and physical capabilities, the program was considered a failure, the subjects were killed, and the program was ended.
In 1945, several reports of a "Gorilla-Man" spread across the Russian/German front. At first dismissed, these reports grew in number leading Allied scientists to revisit the possibility that Stalin's program may have worked.
Photo C is an infra red picture taken of a Russian Tank column moving in on Berlin near the end of the war. Clearly seen leading the way is a man like ape ( or ape like man). This is the only confirmed photo of the creature.
A group of US troops, under the command of a Sgt. Frank Rock actually came across this beast while storming Hitlers bunker in Berlin. The Sgts report listed the 'creature" as around 6 feet tall, incredibly strong, and extremely viscous. This creature didn't use a gun, instead preferring to leap, ape like, into crowds of German troops, and then (in the Sgts words) "rip and tear his way through the Krauts, turning them into a big ol' mess of blood and guts!". It should be also noted that the Sgt. clearly heard the beast speak in fluent Russian, and appeared to be leading the assault.
Current intelligence seems to confirm this creature is still alive, and a high ranking member of the Soviet military. While it has not been confirmed this creature is a result of Stalin's Super Soldier Program from the 1920's, the beasts ape like countenance leads one to assume this is the case.
It is also believed this beast may be the Russian agent code named Red Menace, and is responsible for the disappearance of several paranormal beings, also referred to as Mystery Men, Super Hero's, and Super Villains.
(See old OSS "All Star Squadron" file for references)
It is the suggestion of our top intelligence agents, that the soviets may be attempting to harness the abilities of these paranormals to build a new Super army.
Further, it is suggested all attempts be made to contact the former members of the group known as the Justice Society. Apologies should be made (in private) for any accusations made linking their members to the Communist party, and they should be re-activated and put on this case immediately.

The above is a little blurb I made for the Red Menace character I threw into my hourman story. I decided to make a Red Menace figure, and use him as the focal villian for my Atomic Age Justice Society figures.
Of some interest.... The Russian Super Soldier project, including the cross breeding with apes, and the first two pictures are all true!!
Sometimes the truth is stranger than fiction....and sometimes its just really flipping weird!!!

Excerpt:
In continuance of our surveillance on the Russian Mystery Man known as "the Red Menace", we have turned up new developments.
First, Red Menace is no longer operating alone. He was recently photographed in Alberta Canada on some form of covert operation with two companions. Two of our agents (Starman and Hourman) managed to stop them before they could do whatever it was they had planned. Its possible they were looking for meteor fragments from a recent meteor shower, but we have not yet confirmed this.
Photo:
http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww290/cyclonestudios/red-star-squadron-2.gif
Further investigation has revealed the two companions as Yuri Vetaczech, a member of the Soviet Air Force, and suspected member of their space program. Details are sketchy, but reports indicate a failed Soviet rocket test converted Vetaczech into some kind of super powered monster of incredible strength. He is now called "Cosmonaut".
No information about the other characters identity can be confirmed. Reports say he was a Soviet prisoner, forced to perform slave labor in their Siberian waste lands. Somehow he has acquired atomic powered super strength and invulnerability. He goes under the code name "Atomic Comrade", or conversely "Comrade Atomic".
****UP DATE****
A recent report from one of our newly instated agents (ref: Starman/All Star Squadron file #8978956687) explains how the Atomic Comrade gained his powers. Soviet forces kidnapped Ivy College professor Al Pratt, who apparrently once operated as the mystery man called the Atom (ref: Atom/Cyclotron--respective All Star Squadron files). A unidentified Soviet scientist has developed a means of "leeching" super powers from an individual, and transferring them to another. Pratt had his powers stripped and they were transferred into the man now known as Atomic Comrade.
Photo of Pratt in the machine: (caution..not for the weak of stomache)
http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww290/cyclonestudios/Atomripper.gif
Starman, with the assistance of fellow mystery man the Hourman, was able to retrieve Pratt from the Soviets. Pratt has since recovered and offered his services to stop the Soviet plan. Pratt has also confirmed that the Soviets are intent on building their own league of super beings (referred to as the RED STAR SQUADRON) in an attempt to match what they perceive as the abundance of American controlled super team once known as the ALL STAR SQUADRON. Mr. Pratt has also confirmed this mystery Soviet scientist is indeed in charge of this project.
It appears, Mr. President, that a new arms race has opened up.
Once again, it is urged we do everything in our power to reconvene the mystery men (and women) formerly known as the Justice Society. I have taken the steps of writing a formal apology to all such individuals who we mistakenly accused of colluding with the Reds. All that is needed is for you and congress to sign off on it, and I will have the apology submitted to all the national newspapers and radio stations.

Nope (although time travel would be a neat twist to this story), Ultra Humanite was around in the Golden Age. He was originally, Supermans first major villain until that Luthor guy showed up and stole the spot for bald headed super villain. Granted, U-H wasnt in his monkey form until he was revived in the late sixties or seventies (at least to my knowledge??) but since there was nothing going on with these characters in the fifties, I'm taking artistic license. :) Plus, the Matty U-H fits the Mego scale quite nicely. I really need to buy one! (just used a pic from a buddy for this one).
I really appreciate your thoughts and comments Thomas. From the view count, lots of people are looking at this stuff, but few comment.

honestly, this was an old Supes I got in a pile of stuff once. The stitching was loose all over so I always just kept pushing him to the back of the pile. Yesterday I had time on my hands, so I pulled him out and re-stitched the otherwise nice suit. When I was done, I put it back on him and without the distraction of unstitched sleeves and legs, I noticed he had two big runs going up the middle of his chest....and the logo wouldnt cover them either. Had some scrap stuff on the bench, so I cobbled this guy together. Swapped on some Klingon boots, and ended up with a cool looking alternate Superman.

From the journal of Wesley Dodds:
Feels good to be back in action. I had been feeling mighty listless these last few years, especially after Sandy left for college and Diane spends all her time with our new daughter. I missed the thrill of the hunt.
when I read that some of the others had come back out of our "forced" retirement I got the old itch and dug out the ol' suit. Well, what was left of it. Diane had given away my old double breasted suit to charity. Said green double breasted suits went out of style in the thirties, even before I started wearing it as the Sandman. My old lucky hat, gas mask, and the gas gun were still in good shape thank goodness. Had forgotten how hot it got in the mask though. I never liked the old purple and yellow togs. Only wore them for Diane and Sandys sake anyway.Besides, I may have put on a pound or two over the interim...wouldnt look right in that form fiting thing.
I sure hope Diane isnt too mad when I get back? I didnt mean to, but I had to test the ol' gas gun somehow..
The old Plymouth started right up. Shes still a beauty, but a bit slow for the low slung V-8 jobs the bad guys are running these days. Have to get something new...Maybe something in black like That other guy rips around in over in Gotham.
I sure hope I run across some crooks tonight, or I'm going to feel like an *** when I get home.

Here we have some Otherworlds Worlds Finest!
http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww290/cyclonestudios/otherworldgotham.gif
A world not so unlike our own:
Since this Otherworld needs a back story---Essentially history on this alternate Earth happened as it did here, up until 1910. thats when the first World War broke out here, started by a German government that overthrew Kaiser Wilhelm, and took over. This new government was part of the ancient Thule society, and began building up an army such as the world had never seen. The war was started by the invasion of several European nations by this Thule army, throwing the world into horrible war. Behind the scenes an alien named Lexx Lu-Thor, of the planet Vril was secretly running the Thule government, and feeding it with advanced weaponry.
On the allied side, Dr. Thomas Wayne, an eminent explorer and scientist was also creating new advanced weaponry. He also began introducing strange new metals and weapons, discovered by the Amazons of Themyscira, of whom his wife Diana was a member. The Allied war effort was also helped by a strange young boy..a Superboy..who would suddenly appear out of nowhere to change the tides of battles, then disappear once again.
At a stalemate, Lu-Thor gave the Thule the secret of Atomic weaponry. Soon most of Europe was obliterated by atomic warfare. In 1915, Dr. Wayne along with a group of young German scientists who escaped when the Thule came to power, also discovered how to harness the power of the atom, and using Waynes rocket technology, launched an all out attack on the Thule. The enemy army was unprepared for the counter offensive and were dealt a severe blow. The young Superboy, now a teenager, also aided by flying into Germany after the bomb attacks to wipe out the last of the Thule resistance. Here, he discovered the alien Luth-or, and the two became long time enemies!
The war was over. Europe would be an uninhabitable wast land for decades, and North America was in shambles from the attacks on its soil, and the devastation left behind from the occupation of its Eastern coast by Thule forces.
A new world raised from the ashes. Using the many advances made during the war, new buildings..new cities rose to tower above any others ever built.New Gotham, New Metropolis, New Montreal...across the now unified country of North America rose these towering monuments to technology. It was the start of a glorious new age...for most.
Luth-Or, never forgot his defeat by the boy with the amazing powers and from his arctic hideout, swore revenge. Realizing he couldnt kill the boy, he instead discovered he was being raised by a simple farmer and his wife, in Kansas district. Luth-Or murdered the boys adoptive parents in cold blood! Young Clark discarded his Earthly identity, and became Cal-L, the Superman of Tomorrow! Adopting the costume of his Crypt-Onian people, he began an epic battle to uphold truth, justice, and the North American way.
Meanwhile, another Thule survivor also wanted vengeance! A former soldier, his identity unknown, was horribly maimed in one of the nuclear exchanges. His skin turned a deathly pale white, his hair turned a dingy dark green. his face contorted...he looked like a Joker...and he killed the first man who said that, but adopted the name.
Dr. Thomas Wayne and his family had just returned home, to their ancient manor in Old Gotham, They had been in New Metropolis (the new capital of north America) to receive a Medal of Honour from Chancellor Steele, and were finally home to stay. During dinner, the group was surprised by the Joker, who shot Dr. Wayne, and then his wife Diana (who had given up immortality to become his wife). The grinning jackal then turned the gun on the 15 year old son, Bruce, but was startled when a bat flew in the open window. the Joker had a pathological fear of bats, and ran screaming from the home when more bats entered the window. Bruce saw the intruder before he had shot his parents, but was paralyzed from fear, and couldnt even utter a cry to watch out!!
The young boy was taken in by his grandmother Queen Hippolyta of the Amazons, where he was taught Amazonian science, and trained in amazonian forms of combat. Of course, being a male, Bruce was forbidden to stay, so on the event of his 20th birthday, he returned to Gotham to take over his fathers business. Before he left, Hippolyta gave him two gifts; A chest plate of armor made from amazonium--an indestructible material, and a golden lasso of incredible tensile strength. In the hands of a full Amazonian, one captured in the lasso would be forced to tell the truth. Bruce did have amazonian blood in his veins, from his mother, so when he held the lasso, those caught in its loop were compelled to feel his grief from the loss of his parents, and his inability...his fear...to act when he could have taken out the Joker that horrible night.
Making a flight suit in the appearance of a bat, and utilizing a rocket pack his father was working on, Bruce swore vengeance on all criminals and took to the night skies as the high flying Bat-Man.

Another custom based on my take on the character:
Cameron Van Cleer is back! After a case of schizophrenia where he thought his name was Drury Walker and a series of nightmares that had him thinking he had became an actual moth creature.....Cameron finally regained his senses. Cleared as sane by the doctors at Arkham, Cameron returned to his previous life as the wealthy playboy about town Cameron Van Cleer. Less expected....He also returned to his career as Killer Moth!
Now, the Killer Moth is out for revenge. Upon those criminals who once asked for his protection, then turned on him, and of course upon the Caped Crusader himself...BATMAN!
