Do you all remember these guys from back in the 70's? I thought (and still do) they were a lot of fun. Sometimes you can find them on ebay, especially when football season is in full swing.

I had one of these and loved it, but was disappointed the helmet didn't fit Megos.

I've seen them packaged in boxes and on cards, by the way. The black or african american figures are a bit more rare, from what I've gathered. I passed on the really nice Stadium once and still kick myself for doing so. It's probably the nicest one left, that I will see...lol Oh well.

I want to collect these figures, too. But it seems like there is always something else to get first. One day, in the not too distant future, I hope to get going on them.

What 70's kid didn't get the Steelers and Cowboys figure for Christmas?? Was it Sears or Boscos that use to sell these?

I know that Sears was a big seller of these guys.

I remember seeing these in catalogs and wanting them as a kid but never got any. I have 3 now (Cardinals, Steelers and Cowboys). I've been on the fence with these for years. One month I'll want them the next I want to sell the three I have. Weird. I've passed on the last three I've seen on ebay. If I could only have one it would be the Redskins.

I knew a lot more about these when I was after them than I remember now. Prices vary greatly on them based on completeness (they each came with a stand, football, and numbers sheet) and on which team it was. The more popluar teams (Cowboys, Steelers, Doplhins, Giants) are actually the cheapest ones. Teams like the Cardinals, Chiefs, Jets, Bengals are actually more expensive. And the black figures are even more. Some can go well over $100. Here is a web site I know of that has photos etc.:

They are also customized for teams not around when they were issued. There were only 28 teams back then. The Cardinals I have is cherry mint and complete but loose. The Steelers I have is loose with helmet but no football and the Cowboys has the helmet but won't stand up. They are cool figures though.

I had a small 3 3/4-size (or maybe slightly larger) Dallas Cowboy football figure. Not sure if this was from this line, an offshoot, or a different company all together.

I do remember seeing these in the Sears Wishbook. The sheer number of them was quite impressive, and made me kind of want them, even though I've never been a sports fan much.

I had actually forgotten all about these. Always wanted one, but never had one.
I can't remember if any of my friends had these, but I remember seeing them at Sears and thinking they were cool.
