mego like toy - J.J. Armes

    Hi everybody!

There was this toy that i had as a kid and my parents may still have it , if they didnt give it away. Anyway his name was " Something - Arms? He looked like a mego size, all i can remember was that pieces clipped on to his hands, like hooks?

Who was he? A mego? Any value there?

His name is J J Armes, he was made by Ideal toys from the 9 inch Kid Action body molds. JJ Armes is a real guy who is a detective with prsthetic hook arms, the toy was based on him.

    Best,

    Chris

I had one of those when I was little. He was cool, but his little hook hands weren't very durable. I recall they bent easily.

I don't recall him in a suit, though. Didn't he have some sort of action-camper or something, too?

The suit is made by Armes actual tailor that picture is from his collection. The doll also had a van as Ray recalled, I remember the commercial.

Yeah, I remember seeing that Van, too! But, it's so far back in the foggy past that I can't clearly recall any detail. Very cool figure, though, and one that you don't hear much about anymore.

The beautiful thing about being here is that we can keep many of these toys alive, to some degree.

I have JJ. As a kid, he was one of my favorites. Gotta love all the cool accessories.

He's on the long list of toys that I always wanted when I was a kid, but never managed to get.

The van was a modified Evil kenevil with front cab extended.
JJ is a nice man, who talks sometimes at Prothetics conventions.

Yeah thanks, that site has lots of interesting info. I had no idea that Captain Action was released in Japan, and that they almost made an Ultraman outfit for him. Fascinating stuff.
