I know it's a bummer. and even worse, it's only the latest thing to complain about. The name change, the body, the unswapable body parts and head, and that boxing glove arrow. These are not megos but they are most likely the closest you or I will ever come to seeing them return thanks to Doc. Paul somehow managed to pull off a wonderful thing here. They are not mego, but they are mattel's and Paul's attempt to bring those super sweet toys back to us and a whole new generation.
In 2004 I took a bus from Toledo to New York and one of the best things I brought back from Mego Con 2004 was a complete reproed Batman for my 4 year old nephew off of Paul's table. That was the closest I've come to buying a "new mego" in 20 years. It also was not a mego. It was all Pauls parts on a Doc body (looks a lot like a mego body but has many minor changes) and even though it looked a lot like a mego I knew it wasn't. It was beefier, a RC on a type2 body, and the colors were close but not megos. It was brand new though and I took it back and handed it to my four year old nephew and he though it was great. It was a few months before I saw it again on his bedrom floor naked. My sister saved his clothes because every time he played with him he ended up taking off his batsuit. I think it's all back together on his shelf now. One of the well played with toys that survived his childhood!
Please always remember as you gripe about a bow or a body or a one week wait, Somewhere out there is a dad or an uncle who is going to hand a child a new Green Arrow figure, and the kid is going to SMILE. He wount care, he'll play with him and a month later the bow will be lost and Ollie will be in a toy box naked. 30 years later he'll be looking for a Mattel Green Arrow on ebay and at flea marlets. When he finds it and gets it in his hands again there will be another Smile.

Yeah, a week is nothing. I remember when Matty started up, the MOTUC figures got delayed for several months. So, yeah, sure it's disappointing. But I'll live. :smiley1:

my biggest disapointment about the delay is I wanted to get one for my son for this Christmas...but that's life. i am still eagerly awaiting these.

That was the most eloquent phrasing of the way the Retro Green Arrow should be approached that I have heard yet. My five year old is on pins and needles wanting this figure because it is "just like daddies". I can't wait for him to experience what I did as a child and for me to see the look on his face, so one week is nothing compared to the payoff.
Thanks Paul for making this happen.

Throwing my hat in the arena and yes, I'm glad to wait another week. Just hope I can get my order in.
The Doc sure helped with a new line and and figure. That's what it is, NEW. That's how new lines are made, from the old.

It actually worked out to my benefit, so I'm glad it got pushed back a week. I do think Mattel should have warned us earlier, but I know that crap happens (all too often to Mattel so it seems) but I'm jazzed up to check this guy out on the 23rd. Shame I won't get him until 2010 sometime. So much for DC Retro Action in 2009! HELLO 2010!

I had to work on the 15th, but not on the 23rd, so the delay makes it easier for me. Also, I'm sure the website will have less traffic so it will probably go pretty smoothly.

I plan on getting an extra one just to tear apart and see how its put together. :licklips:

Well said almitysufx! I feel bad for those who wanted GA for Christmas. But for me just the fact that these are getting made is a Christmas gift to me. I will be glad to avoid the Matty mess from yesterday and hope they have their act together on the 23rd. At least I can save a little on shipping and pick up DCUC wave 11 as well.

Good luck to all on the 23rd and here's to an exciting 2010 ahead.

You're permitted to buy 10 (the maximum) I believe, everyone buying one or two might think about getting a couple extra for those that can't be online that day. Because every scalper out there will be buying the maximum and putting them on eBay for twice the price. The less we have to buy them from those *******s the more they get stuck with them and loose money on them

A week's a week. We had no guarantee these would arrive by Christmas anyhow. Stuff happens. No need to have an ulcer over it. If you don't like it, that's cool, don't buy it. But not buying it over a week delay is pretty harsh, and kind of nuts.

At this time of the year, the Postoffice is very busy. The odds of any of us getting our GA by the 24th was not good at all.

Waiting makes the heart grow fonder. I agree, what is a week? Although I think Mattel should have planned better. Their shipments should not be that close. Bad PR is not a good thing and is hard to overcome. Wiith that said, I remember waiting most of the month of December for Santa to deliver the origanal Megos. Oh, memories......

The stuff I've ordered from Matty comes via UPS, usually only takes a couple of days.

Wouldn't it be a great idea if someone were to buy a couple of extra GAs, for people in, let's take a wild guess,...Belgium?:smiley13::yes:

Since it's a small country, that's all it can handle.
But it's the quality that counts, not the quantity....
