Sources for a Mego scale chainsaw?

I'm working on an Army of Darkness/Evil Dead Ash. I have a resin head to paint, and a good idea of how to sew the outfit. I just need a chainsaw. Has anyone ever done something like this? How did you attach the chainsaw to his hand?

And I think they have an Ash figure already, so just slice it off and stick it on your custom.

Otherwise maybe a Bob the Builder has a cheaper one.

WWE has several. The Big Jim one (although it's yellow). I think there are lots of them in 1/6 that might work.

I have a good friend who is an excellent sculpter who has been making me some weapons such as as neat looking mace for my Hawkman and a decent handle to fit on a pitch fork for my Mephisto. If you can't find any luck for Mego size, PM me I can ask him if he'd be up to sculpting a chainsaw. I have been taking some lessons from him and my head sculpts are getting a lot better. This guy is pretty good with his fingers and can make just about anything.

Otherwise, I would go with Mcfarlane horror toys but I am afraid they might be a couple scales smaller then Mego size.

I'll be checking the Dollar Tree this week I've seen those wrestler accessories before and they look like a good match for Megos. In a pinch, the Movie Maniacs figures might work, but I think the former would work better than the latter.

                  Hmmmm....

I was thinkin' of doing one myself. Unfortunately I can't afford more mold making materials right now. (Otherwise I'd have a bunch of new guns.)

Good call AAAA. I stopped at the nearest Dollar Tree and found cheapo wrestlers with accessories that look pretty Mego-compatible. If anyone needs a barbell, there's another wrestler that has one, along with some kind of weapon that might work for Hawkman. It's not exactly a mace, but it might work in a pinch.

If my auction win from ebay does show up (coming from China). I am gettign a 1/6 scale pitchfork, however in addtion to this is a chainsaw blade

if you want it, it is yours

below is a pic from the auction

heheh, I imagine if he really wanted a 1/6th scale chainsaw for his Ash custom, he might as well use the chainsaw that came with the 1/6th scale Ash figure.

I made my own Ash years ago based on the Hasbro carded Joes available at the time. The chainsaw does have a relatively distinct look to it. And, if you're like me at all, and strive for a bit of accuracy... my suggestion would be to build the thing from scratch.

For the scale I was working at I built my base around the cap to an old highlighter pen. It was big enough to snugly fit around the bandaged stump. Since I saw this thread originally I found that a fine point permanent marker cap has just the right circumference to fit over a cloth covered 8" mego stump. You'll probably have to experiment with it if you want to try this.

That's very nice, but there's no way I'll get this done in time if I build it by scratch.
I think the one I got yesterday will work nicely. Here are pics.
