View Full Version : No Green Arrow for tomorrow

Just found this on facebook
Mattycollector.com SALE UPDATE! Green Arrow isn't going to arrive at the warehouse in time for the sale tomorrow so he's going to move to our 12/23 sale with Wave 11. All other products are arriving as we speak and will go on sale tomorrow. There might be a day or two delay in shipping as they still need to be sorted out once we receive ...them, but don't worry -- they're coming!
Don't kill the messenger.

Seriously, how do you just now find that out that you won't have them on-hand? I made work arrangements specifically for tomorrow to accomodate the noon sale time and now...it's for nothing.
Is it possible for them to look any more unprofessional? They have him listed one day and not the next, they don't show the final product till two days prior to sale and now they can't coordinate their warehouse issues. So no CHristmas delivery for us.
Now watch and they will be on sale tomorrow and we'll all miss it. They'll say ooops, our bad. I woudn't put it past them to screw up their Facebook entry.
I'm not sure I could be any more frustrated at this point. I still want the figure and I guess I'll buy it on the 23rd, but Matty Collector is obviously run by morons.
If they can't even get these figures right that only they sell on their own private website, how can we have any confidence they will get the product into stores in 2010?

Sucks for those of you who were planning on ordering tomorrow. I feel for you all. How awesome would it have been to put him under your tree and open him on Xmas morning??!!!??
I may miss out on GA all together as funds just won't allow for it right now. It would be a cold day in Hell for me to spend money on myself when I can't even get my kids some Xmas gifts this year. :)
I'm really sorry guys! I wsh I could help somehow.

I'm disappointed too - but I have no control over Mattel's internal operation.
My involvement on Green Arrow ended when the prototypes were delivered
to San Diego.
Like everyone else, I have to order them through the website.

I'll catch this "Green Arrow" figure on eBay about three years from now. No time to play games.

Ok, Question, So the GA figure is not in till next week, why can't they just sell them tomorrow as advertised, and then mail them when they come in next week? is that not the most logical thing to do?
I am truely not suprised this happened, however what does suprise is the companies unprofessionalism, the only think that would disappoint more is is when the figure ships the legs break apart or the elastic snaps, or the chest becomes unglued and mattel tells us fans, oh ,thats not a serious problem, just take some superglue and glue the chest back in place. If I spend my money on something, esp what this figure costs, I would want it to not break apart upon openning and I would not be pleased to have to repear it myself no matter how simple it was, now if the figure was older thats a different story.

What kind of ******baggery is that? You were the facilitator of this line and their main go-to guy. THey couldn't float you a couple of freebies? That's just flat out wrong. I know you have no control over that, but you should still get a few tokens for your efforts.
I know you can't publicly express an opinion on the matter, but I can. That's freakin stupid.

All sales do not start on Wednesdays. I can't speak for all lines, but the Masters of the Universe classics go on sale on the 15th (or next business day if the 15th falls on a weekend) each month. I am almost surprised they didn't push Green Arrow back to Jan. 15th.

I had to buy the Treks - made in my own factory in China - at the same price as any
other retailer, and didn't get them until after most retailers in my area.
While it would be nice to get free swag, I am glad to buy them in quantity.

I am crushed. I have been extra good this year, I have sat on every knee of every Santa asking to have one of these under my tree this year. That does it! I am not going to believe in Santa anymore! Furthermore, I think I will boycott this figure.... ahh, who am I kidding, I want this figure! Besides, I have my birthday at the end of January!

Ok, were all ****ed.
I'm looking at the brighter side of this?
But as near as I can tell they are also selling about 9 other
tomorrow only specials.
We would be fighting it out with all the other figure collectors.
At least next week, there will not be as many problems?
So, in theory... It should be easy to buy?
And who knows, maybe they will even have more to sell??
This still beats the 8 weeks it took for the Super Hero catalog,
to send me my Fantastic Four and Conan back in 76?
In fact, I seen Conan at J.C.Pennys before I got mine.
So, I shoplifted him. I was a rotten kid.
But all my Superheros and comicbooks saved me.
Here is a pic of the button they tossed in, as a bonus.

No surprise here.
If you look back at some of my post you'll notice a CONSTANT theme towards Mattel as a company. They are the Keystone cops of toy manufactoring. :jester: For those of you who have been blisfully ignorant of any dealing with Mattel count yourselves lucky. I on the other hand have been dealing with them as a collector and customer for almost 10 years straight. They have in the last 3 to 4 years accelerated their incompetence to levels unimagined. And, no matter what anyone says, writes, blogs etc. about the way this company is run.. nothing at Mattel ever changes, except it gets WORSE! :help:
So, while not surprised at all that Mattel dropped the ball once again.. I too am disappointed along with ya all. These guys can't figure out how to get mass-produced toys into stores (seriously), let alone, speciality items targeted to go on their own web site (w/no middle man involved). Most of these apes :monkey_y: hitting computer keys at Mattel are LUCKY to even have a job. If I did my job as they do theirs, well, I would of been layed off years ago. :skull:
I am so tired of Mattel.. you have no idea. :wall:

While this actually works out to my benefit (budget was tight with 3 He-mans already) and I'm happy that this release date is pushed back, it's a harbringer of bad for this line. Selling this figure on the 15th pretty much guarnteed that it'd sell bigger. Most people try to buy from Matty ONCE, not multiple times to save on shipping.
By moving it to the less popular on sale date and ensuring that no one gets it before Xmas, they've hurt potential sales on this line.
Although the cases of DCUC go on sale on the 23rd, that's not going to drive as much traffic as the main 15th on sale date.

what a crock... its all part of the hype
surely if you are going to offer a web exclusive and have been announcing dates, times, product for months now your going to know what it is your doing
ive never bought anything from them and probably never will
these are probably on sale on the streets in china already, biggest crooks of all
we should have all replied to them spam emails for fake fashions we get and asked them to get us all boxes of retro action ga over here
so its 23rd, right on top of xmas lol, great! and you will all log on and buy, they have you right in there matty pockets
a bit like last year i bought my misses take that concert tickets, they had to go on sale in dec right before xmas yet the concert was not until july.. big marketing con the whole lot of it
ah well good luck suckers :)

I actually feel better with it being released next week. The Matty site has crashed in the past when too many people were ordering product there. With GA and the DCUC wave 11 pushed back til next week, fewer people will be on buying stuff.

I wonder if they felt there would be too many desirable pieces available on the same day and moved it for that reason? Moving it off for a week because it's not in yet doesn't make sense. Just take the orders and ship it when it arrives. If the site is crashing now imagine what it would've been if the GA figure was available today too. Plus if you're gonna put a figure up on a Tuesday why not spread the orders out across five days. At least you wouldn't have the buyers only looking for a single figure fighting for bandwidth with all the other people in the same situation. Sometimes I wonder if these companies think before rolling out a plan. Note to big company...In some cases the high school dropout that's been picking orders in your company for 10 years is smarter than the guy that smoked pot and drank for 4 years in college while he got his degree.

Be happy GA was delayed.. RTM is (as usual) swamped with Matty complaining.. here's one excerpt from a poster:
The site crashes wholesale a few minutes before today's items come up for sale.
It returns a few minutes later, but errors abound and I'm unable to place anything in my cart.
Several minutes later, I am able to place the items I want in my cart (from their individual listing pages, mind you, not the main sales page), but the RSOD makes its return and the going is slow.
Several minutes later, I make it to the end of the ordering process only to find an error screen blocking the completion of my order.
30 minutes later, I am told one of the figures that's been in my cart for almost 45 minutes has sold out while I was prevented from ordering it.
I remove the remaining items from my cart and close the browser window.
The End.

If this is the sort of professionalism we can expect from Mattel then I don't have a lot of confidence for any future releases.
Seems like this rerelease is doomed from the get-go: crappy cards, bow-legged figures, first release is an exclusive and release date has been pushed back.

I Concur, and first impressions are highly essential. Hopefully, the delay will allow them time to workout the kinks (Bowleggness,...Pun). The videogame industry always pushes back their games when they need to fix a bug within the game. Hopefully, the delay is a quality control issue.
