I know we've recently discussed the proper rendering of Cap's uniform... in regards to how often these days it's depicted as plate armour vs chain mail.

I think this is the first time I have ever seen Cap's uniform rendered as it is supposed to (at least as I remember the premise from back in the day) in hyper detail... as fabric stretched over chain mail.

I would imagine it was the color artist who would have properly rendered that look given the fact that blacks laid down by Penciller/inker seem to harken back to the old days where the chain mail under fabric was suggested by those little squiggles.

I think Kevin Maguire's take in "The Adventures of Captain America" prestige mini was the real start of the modern interpretation. It just took another decade for new artists to make it stick.

The "Madbomb" cover did actually make it look scaley instead of just squiggly though.
