Somehow I think Cyborg deserves better than to be standing in the back of this crowd.

He's the one guy who I think deserves to be promoted up to the Justice League if they are going to remove him from the Teen Titans book.

Think about it. TWO animated series (Super Powers and Teen Titans). TWO recent appearances in Smallville. TWO successful Teen Titan relaunches (the original run with Perez and Wolfman and the most recent incarnation by Geoff Johns). A Super Powers Action Figure back in the eighties, as well as huge piles of recent Teen Titans animated merchandising. Solid B-Lister ready to break through to the next level (ala Luke Cage or Power Girl) if there ever was one. It would be a shame for him to slip back down to the C-List.

As for the rest of them I recognize Cyborg, obviously, and the female Hawk and Dove team. Who are the other losers though? Is that Beast Boy? Reminds me of Bug from Micronauts crossed with an Atlantean. :smiley1:

I feel the same way. I love the Titans. I've loved tracking down the Silver Age stuff, loved the Wolfman/Perez work, and still even read and tried to find positives in the post-100 New Titans, Jurgens team, and the Faerber run. I've felt rewarded for my loyalty by the main Titans book.

And then they give a shot to one by Judd Winick.

I know I'll pick it up, but it'll likely be for 50 cents combined with some other stuff in an Ebay order.

Lagoon Boy was a new Aqualad stand-in created by Eric Larson when he took over Aquaman from Peter David. Despite that awkward starting point, I really liked the way he was written in the Young Justine No Man's Land Special and his guest appearances in Young Justice. Unfortunately the arrival of a new Aquagirl kind of knocked him out of the running in the same way that Mia/Speedy's arrival pretty much relegated Arrowette/Cissie to obscurity.

Power Boy was just one of dozens of seemingly throw-away characters created by Geoff Johns to move in and out of The Teen Titans during the One Year Later Gap during 52.

Who'd of thought that he actually had legs once other writers picked up on him?

I guess he's just one among a crowd of forgettable awkward Teen sidekick wannabe's like Little Barda, Bombshell, Molecule, Young Frankenstein etc.

Cyborg does deserve better. He was one of the first major super heroes who just happened to be black, and not "black" to be "urban" or "street" (see Luke Cage or Black Lightning).

I have enjoyed the Johns Titans and I'll stick around and try the new guys, but Winnick just isn't my cup of tea.

hmmm,.. I might try it. I do like the fact that Both Hawk & Dove are girls now,.. I was always a fan of the OG characters. Who's the chick in the purple ? ... But I dunno,.. I like the Titans East that Deathstroke created better. They for the most part were all Baddies,.. the team was a lot better than the characters shown here. Cyborg & Beastboy kinda got screwed IMO with the whole "one yr later" crap in the DC universe. So Did Impulse/Kid Flash/Flash/Bart Allen. So I take it since Cyborg is headed over to the East book,.. then Donna Troy is sticking around in the Titans book as thier mentor ? & Whats going on with Starfire ? Is her character comming back to any of these books ? She was hanging with the Outsiders with Dick, .. however she is not in Batmans Outsiders line up,.. or atleast there is no pic of her ?.

^ Catwoman seems to be popping up in a lot of the promo stuff too...On the cover of Previews (I forget the month, the one when BATO debuts) I think it shows Bats, Catwoman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, Grace, Katana and Metamorpho. Maybe Thunder too?

I am a big fan of that pic,... I was picking up the Outsiders book at first,.. then just here & there. Perhaps I might need to again if Bats is in it. I read something that the hype behind the Outsiders book is,.. sometimes the worlds SuperHero's can't do something,.. because hands may be tied,.. so Bring on the Outsiders... If Bruce could only patch issues Up with Arrow,.. that would make for a real good book imo, considering Arrow is not affiliated with any Super powered group these days.

The thing is if you have to split a franchise team into 2 rosters, you'd better have some A and B-listers on both teams....not a bunch of Cs and Ds. The Titans franchise is getting watered down and I must partially blame Geoff Johns for introducing a lot of knock-off characters in One Year Later. It was a cute, fun idea at first but it opened the floodgates for crap members who claim to be Titans. Almost makes you want to see them bring back Kole and Danny Chase....almost.:no:

Maybe once Winnick is dumped from the Titans East book (it'll happen eventually...you just have to be patient), the new writer will see fit to give some love to the Marvel Family (that is IF Winnick...there's that name again... doesn't mess them up too badly after the "Trials" mini is over (and shouldn't it be done by now?)

If DC holds to form, Mary could be the only Marvel available to a Titans book. Billy is now the Wizard, in charge of all magic in the DCU. Freddy is in training to be his champion, Shazam. Mary is being reinvented in the pages of Countdown.

Here's hoping that Billy Batson and the Power of SHAZAM will be a true representation of Fawcett's Marvels.

Kingdom Come is not neccesarily the future of the DC Universe...some say it's an alternate earth in the Multiverse (as seen in the end of "52"), while others say it's an alternate timeline which may or may not happen. According to the JLA/JSA/LSH cross-over (which is confusing in itself), the KC-Earth was a "stop-over" earth for Starboy/Starman on his way to the mainstream DCU.

It was a lot easier to figure BEFORE "52"'s conclusion....now with these pseudo Earth-2s,Ss and Xs for example I don't know where they stand. I'm not even sure DC is 100% sure of what they're doing...but hopefully something is in place by the end of "Final Crisis" that's permanent and makes sense...

Now some of this line-up I can see. I like Cyborg and he is an under-rated character. The current Hawk and Dove are ok in small doses although I liked Hank and Don much better in the Silver Age. I hate to admit it, but I LIKE Powerboy, and would like to see him develop into more than another throwaway character. The little we've learned about his Apokoliptic upbringing so from Supergirl far makes him intriguing.

But, otherwise, I agree with the majority of posts so far: That Cyborg is underrated and deserves a better line-up peppered with some other, more familiar Titans.

On the flip-side of the equation, there aren't a lot of original Titans left alive from the past who haven't moved on to other groups that aren't pretty mediocre. I think the real problem is that if the Titans are the close-knit family they have always been, fans won't appreciate an artificial division in the ranks to keep the groups separate. To keep them untangled, most writers would have to pull together a team of fresh characters lacking the Titans' histories.

I always felt Titans East/West became more and more of a joke; if somebody really wanted to make it work, they need a stronger line-up, IMHO. I also think if Winnick flops, the dual Titans groups idea will probably fall back into obscurity for another decade. Either way, <sigh>, I'll be buying it. No matter how badly it's done, I'm still a Titan forever :grin:

Well, it doesn't look like Nightwing is going to be in the Outsiders book. I just read the Nightwing and Boomer crossover, and Batman has pretty much taken over. I personally would like to see Dick working with some of the Titans family again. I guess Donna Troy is going to be out of the picture for a while, since she's running around with Jason Todd and "Bob" the Monitor, looking for Ray Palmer at the moment. What's Starfire been up to lately? I was kind of under the impression that she was still doing some post-52 wrap-up, but I'm not sure.

^ Speedy/Arsenal/Red Arrow doesn't bother me as much as I thought he would on the JLA team. Agreed on Geo-Force...what with Black Lightning on the team and Bats it looks like a mini-Outsiders reunion.

Hopefully, with McDuffie on the book now, Geo-Force AND Vixen will get dumped for characters that deserve to be on the JLA. Don't get me wrong, they're both cool, unique characters but I don't consider them iconic enough to be on the JLA, now that said team is back to "name" players instead of Faith, Manitou Raven and Master Disaster. :yuk: I'd have rather have seen Animal Man instead of Vixen but DC seems intent on pairing him up with Adam Strange and Starfire (their "52" storyline sucked IMO).

I'm still hoping they fix Firestorm (i.e. bring back Ronnie Raymond) and put him on the team, alongside the Atom (Ray Palmer)!

I thought she was just toying with him, kind of beating him at his own game.
It is nice to see him using the bow and arrow though. I liked Roy much better when he was Speedy, although I understand why that character had to evolve. But seeing Green Arrow's protege' running around with guns the way he did for a while instead of using his archery skills kind of got on my nerves.

True. But that doesn't make him a bad character--just one with room for growth or not. It seems to me every unknown/newly created New Gods related character starts off somewhat as one-dimensional or at least stilted. Knockout was a similar case when she first appeared in the last Superboy series. It took a while to develop her into the character we got to know and love in the most recent version of the Secret Six appearances. Most cameos of Big Barda too. So, after so the years of cheesecake superheroines, it's a nice kind of a shake-up to see beefcake. Paradigm shifts can be fun as long as the character development supports them.

Clarifying the upcoming Titans East special for retailers, Wayne reiterated that the one-shot will lead to a new Titans series which will star Nightwing, Cyborg, Donna Troy, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy.

So no mimbo. Just the REAL New Teen Titans (minus Wally).

Yeah if Winnick's in, I'll be out. It really hasn't been that long ago since DC tried a NTT reunion with "The Titans" series, launched by Devin Grayson and Mark Buckingham. Of course that was an orignal TT and NTT reunion series, so this will be the first straight NTT "relaunch".
