Meule I think you have said it the best. We know we have some issues and if we don't fix them we won't have any orders to ship. Dave and I have borrowed alot of money and spent alot of time trying to make this work, we're in it for the long haul. Even if we ran off with all the money everybody ever sent us it still wouldn't cover our loan. We're not going to rip anyone off. We haven't posted because we're trying to fix the problems and at this point talking about it over and over and making excuses won't fix the issues. We're going to have to earn each order and get the repeat orders based on service. 1 problem is we get 100 orders out and we screw 1 order up and everyone only hears about the one we screwed up. If you're happy with your order please post.
I've been in contact with a local small buisness that ships online orders. We're going to be doing inventory this month, moving the toys from KS to St.louis, and letting a company ship the orders for us. We will also have a quarantee in place for shipping times. We just simply can't keep up with the volumne of orders, run the buisness, sculpt, prototype, work out liscense agreements and live a normal life. In a month or so the orders will be handles by a regular staff and sent out once a week. In the meantime since we lost alot of data from daves computer we're going to be going thru emails and posts and making sure everyone gets their stuff.

This is what they need. People dedicated to shipping only. This should get them caught up and keep things moving. That is very good to hear!

I have posted once questioning where an order was, only to see a box on my doorstep from Castaway. Jason has always returned my emails so I really can't complain. In fact he and I are finishing up two deals currently. Both of which will be delivered in satisfactory time. Thanks Jason!
Starting a new business can be completely draining, and consume all facets of life's angles. Seeing that you and Dave have recognized the trouble areas and addressed them with a functional business plan says a great deal about your devotion to the project.
Keep the wheels churning guys. You still have my business!

I'm still very much behind you guys and wish you the very best.
You guys know what the problem is and you've addressed it, good call guys. I knew eventually everything would turn out OK, I never lost faith in you.

I Emailed Jason yesterday asking for a status update on two orders, and today I open my front door to find a package from Castaway. That's just freaky!
Thanks Jason. The Zombie Priest is every bit as creepy as I was hoping he would be.

I appreciate your good attitude throughout and your efforts to continue to make improvements. You have a great product and if you can nail this shipping thing down, you shouldn't have any problem with repeat orders. I think most people end up posting their frustration on here after the other avenues have been exhausted (mostly unanswered emails). Please continue your efforts to improve, and I'm sure you can create a win win situation in most cases. I have always been happy with your products. The biggy is obviously the shipping timeframes. Cheers and please keep plowing forward.

Ok everyone, jump on the bandwagon for round 2, or is it 3? I think actions speak louder than words.
Whatever round it is, there won't be another and I'm sure they realise that. If they want to pay off that loan they need to sell. And if they don't deliver they won't sell, so I think they know what needs to be done now

You've got me coach. I have complained in this very forum about a shipping delay. However, Jason contacted me directly and resolved the situation quickly.
Of course I can only speak for myself, but Jason has taken care of me every time; a little slow on shipping, but he has stayed in contact.
From reading this forum it is obvious that others have not fared as well as I have. Dave's video did not really say anything, but Jason's answer went into detail explaining the business plan; I can't ask for more than that.
I know that I am a newbie, so maybe I have a lot to learn, but Jason has done good by me. When someone treats me well I let others know.

I'm not here to be the pessimist but I think many of you who "believe" in cast-a-way need to remember the lessons learned from megostore. Many of you gave that place a ton of chances. I'm very leery of places that take your money and never produce. Sometimes I think our community is too nieve and can't see what's right in front of them.

TX teach I think you make a great point. We don't think people should blindly take our word for anything. We know we have to earn each customer back that we've wronged by providing a good product in a timely manner. When we started this a couple of years ago we had no idea we would be shipping out the volume of orders that we have been. We've been on middle ground, too busy to keep up and not busy enough to pay for outside help.Dave has been bustin his butt for a long time to try and get these orders out. It has been overwelming for him and his family. We've known we weren't going to be able to keep these orders shipping out and took steps to improve things. Those changes didn't work. We can either quit or put measures in place to fix the gaps.
We're not quiting. In fact we're just getting started.
Like I said yesterday an outside company will start shipping our items in a month or so and they will guarantee a ship date for each order. We will give all the details when we get everything in place.
Txteach are you currently waiting on an order or is all the anger from a previous order. This is starting to seem personal.

I don't see anything as personal. I'm just looking out for the new uy who says "hey, they have great stuff and everyone at the megomuseum loves them, let me order". Sometimes we forgive bad service or someone who doesn't come through because they are great guys. I for one loved getting the phantom and hope you guys come through for everyone but after the last excuses I think people here need to be cautious. Nothing personal at all. I actually wish you guys luck.

I think the thousands of views on all our recents posts have sent out that same message loud and clear. Castaway toys has problems getting all of the orders shipped out on time.
I think having a seperate party send out the orders will fix these problems.
As Muele said if we don't take of these issues, people won't order and we'll go out of buisness.
I just don't want to keep rehashing the same thing. We need to figure out what people are waiting for, send them their order, and let the shipping company do what they do best (ship orders)

I hope you guys can got your stuff straightened out, I'd love to get some more bodies(they are the best ones out there imho) but I'm not going to place an order till I see people posting here that stuff is getting to them in a week or so. It was like pulling hen's teeth getting my Phantom and the subsequent EB suit.

I think this statement sums it all up!!!
I am of the same exact view.I have ordered before but shall not order until I see things change.
The stuff is great and you guys are decent but unfortunately it just isn't enough anymore.
Hope you turn it around.

Jason, I am very glad that you and Dave are not giving up. Captain Action is my all-time favorite toy. I was very happy when Playing Mantis brought him back, and very dissapointed when they cancelled production on him. I was hoping somehow another toy company would produce him-and you guys are it! Thank you very much for bringing back Captain Action! I hope you can continue doing Captain Action for a long time to come.
Having someone else handle the shipping for you , with a guarenteed delivery date, should help big time. Once that problem is ironed out and everyone has recieved their orders, and all new orders are shipping on time I'm sure sure that you guys will be getting lots of new orders from people here. I plan to order all the CA items you guys make, for as long as I can.
So don't give up! I appreciate the dedication you put into this project and the big investment in it you guys made. I'm sure it will all work out. Keep up with the great Captain Action stuff!:smile:
