Can you remove 'runs' in clothes?

Hello everyone,

Not sure whether this has been discussed before or not but I would like to know if there are any methods to remove 'run's in Mego clothes. I dont have the problem with most of my Mego but a lot of item's on eBay do and it would be nice to have the ability to fix it.
Any help would be appreciated.

I've never heard of someone removing runs in clothing (any clothing for that matter, not just Mego). Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know if it has a run in it you're screwed :please_y:

Unless your a super duper seamstress and could fill the run with the same thread

yeah I figured that I would get replies like this. Essentially I was just hoping that some one would have worked out some method, there was no harm in asking though was there?
My Dr McCoy will have to go through life looking like some one tried to slash his chest open.:silly:

At least it's a McCoy shirt. Wander on over to Marketplace, those are a dime a dozen.

The only thing I've managed to do is close up small runs. It's noticable, but at least it looks cleaner and keeps the run from spreading.

You can't remove the run, but I've seen some Mego suits repaired pretty convincingly. I hope she doesn't mind me mentioning it, but Theresa did some great work on a Supergirl suit. I think she just matched up the thread and used really small stitches...Maybe she would be nice enough to post a little advice. :wink_y::grin:

I've managed to sew up some holes and runs in my Human Torch's costume with mild success. Only because the design in the fabric helps hide the new 'seams'. Any other costume, and I'd agree that you're out of luck trying to repair it.
