Seems my story is just one of the many. Have tried e-mailing Dave multiple times in the past few months with no response. This forum is my last recourse.

So Dave, if you happen to read this, please respond. I ordered (and paid for) the Early Bird Phantom in October 2008 when it was first announced. A few months ago I received the bonus olive-green costume, but there's been no sign of the figure itself.

Order no. yhst-12736645079161-603. Here's hoping ...

I know what it's like having back problems. I once spent the night on a mattress on the floor at my brother's house one New Year's and for a week afterward, I literally could not get up from a sitting or lying position.

I would have to roll out of bed onto my feet, and then straighten up.

Fortunately, my uncle was a practicing acupuncturist, and he treated my back for me, free of charge.

Forty minutes after he inserted the needles, (and the little beggars DO hurt a bit, I don't care what the so-called experts say), I was on my feet and the pain was gone.

Any news on your stuff, dude?

A year is an awful long time to wait for someone to deliver goods that they swore up and down that they were going to.

Welcome aboard ans Sorry to hear about the situation.
Completely unacceptable.
The pre-order wait I can understand but the product has been floating around for several months now.

That being said they are great guys and I'm sure you will receive your stuff eventually.

Being an outside observer, it seems Castaway has a lot of problems when shipping overseas.

As a matter of fact, I could have swore they stopped taking overseas orders (not sure though)

Bonkers head from the UK and Thorion from Italy have had there figures and stuff from Castaway. My order was placed in June but they may have changed their policy for oversea's orders now?

I just think it's odd that I received the bonus costume but not the figure. Plus I've seen comments from customers who've received an extra figure. Maybe one of them is mine ...?

MEGOMAN
Nov 5, '09, 9:05 PM
I was one of those who posted on here about receiving an extra phantom without ordering it. It was sent to me well past when I received the it the first time. I'm sorry but, these guys at Cast-a-way have a huge problem.:yeah:

Man in Tights
Nov 5, '09, 10:34 PM
Was that around late July/early August? That's when I received the costume. Could be some mislabelling at play.

Was it standard practice for Cast-a-Way to send out the figures and costumes separately?

MEGOMAN
Nov 6, '09, 12:12 AM
It may have been around July. Many people have received their extra costumes before and after they were sent their Phantom. Bottom line is the Cast-a-way has some serious issues with empty promisses.

I couldn't sleep at night knowing I had ripped off so many customers.

We put our good faith in these guys and they reward us with countless broken promises and one bulls**t excuse after another.

At this point, their behavior is completely inexcusable. They should either ship all outstanding orders immediately, or refund the money. It's as simple as that.

Man in Tights

I could handle the waiting if there was at least some communication. But there's been zero.

The "Advanced/Challenging" version.

Seriously.
Hope you get better soon. Back problems can really mess you up.
You learn pretty fast that just about every movement you make is connected to your back.

And to get back to the issue at hand:
Having to wait a year for your stuff is just not done.
Unless it's made clear in advance that you're in for a long wait.
If there are big delays, I'd refund people and offer the item again when available.

Amen Brother!! it'd be nice if they could communicate with people.

Agreed, if you can't supply the item(s) within a reasonable time frame of when it was advertised as being available/shipped, then simply refund the customer in full and then offer it again when it is in hand.
I am curious though why we are not seeing the pitch fork carrying members posting in these Cast-a-Way threads stating how wrong and disgusting this is and asking to have the person banned for life like we saw in the toystalker thread?

I'm sure they will come and claim a flooded basement or computer problems or a sick cat and most here will jump back on board with what great guys they are yada yada and the pattern will start again. well I for one will not order again from them. A product is good only if it arrives.

I posted this in the other thread as well. First watch the video

I am not defending anyone here and I do understand why everyone's upset, having to wait over a year for an outstanding order is not done, simple as that.
But you were also all complaining about a lack of communication, which I agree is poor business ethics, but now - finally - that DL has at least made an attempt at explaining and excusing themselves for a delay you are still complaining.
I'm not saying you should all hold hands now and sing Kumbaya or anything, but DL took a step forward, complaining about the same old same old isn't gonna do anyone good. Obviously they're reading these posts and they are doing something about it, Jason has PM'ed me that my stuff is on the way.
Again, I don't defend anyone, but let's at least give them a break, they took a step to improve their business ethics let's see where it leads

Sorry if I'm going back over the same old ground that's already been covered, but since I wasn't a forum member previously I had no idea what was going on. Other customers who aren't on the forums would be in the same boat.

As I said, I'm happy to wait - I'd just like a PM of my own as reassurance that my case is being looked at.

Mikey
Nov 9, '09, 10:40 AM
I think almost anything can be forgiven except the lack of communication.

Even if an order has not been filled in over a year most buyers would still be happy and patient if their messages were answered and they were assured their order would eventually be filled... even if they email once a week for a year straight.

If this kind of customer communication cannot be provided, then yous might as well just shut down and give up because everyone who gives you money for your wares deserves this courtesy ...

It takes about 20 seconds to reply to an email.
If you can't spare 20 seconds per customer, then you shouldn't even be selling anything.

Just giving my opinion:)

Thanks

Sorry to interrupt all the back-slapping that's been going on around here lately, but I'm not yet a satisfied customer.

David and/or Jason, despite assurances that my Phantom was on its way (http://megomuseum.com/community/showpost.php?p=415118&postcount=56) (after a year) I'm still yet to receive it another month on.

Could you please confirm the address you sent it to, and any tracking no. (even if it only goes to the border)? Original order #yhst-12736645079161-603.

Here's hoping against hope - I've almost given up ...

On 11-19-08, I purchased (1) Castaway Club memberships @ $25.00 each, for a total of $25.00. Paid via Paypal.

My Ebay I.D. = dkg4dpn
My Paypal I.D. = themetalrepublic*at*hotmail.com

Can anyone tell me how I can convert my $30.00 Castaway credit into actual merchandise? Dave said he would send me some sort of code but I never received it.

Are you Castaway guys going to allow another calendar year pass into history without resolving orders placed in 2008? You're finally getting out new orders in a timely manner, but what about orders placed 15 months ago? In less than two weeks, people will be complaining about not receiving orders place "the year before last".

I'm not a savings & loan. It isn't my responsibility to float you guys an interest-free loan for 15 months.
