It's not often I give myself flashbacks but that's what happened with this 1977 Fisher Price Toy Catalog (http://plaidstallions.com/fp/fp77.html)., Starting with crib toys and moving to the point where you traded in your little people for adventure people, you might find something you had on every page.

Wow, I had totally forgotten about the activity center. Seeing it there made me think "How could I forget that!" It fascinated me well past the time it should have. I think I still had it laying around my toys at 4 years old at least.
In the picture above, I know I had the rolling smiley phone (later used it as the Bat-phone), and the Little People school house.

I think we had most of the toys in that catalogue. :smiley1: My favourite was that Little People Circus Train, that was very cool. My favourite one that I never had was the Little People Castle (not pictured in that catalogue, I don't think it was available for as long as the other stuff was), complete with Knights and a dragon. A remember visiting someones house (parents' friends), and the kids there had one, it was so cool, I think I played with it the whole time we were there. :)

Hi guys, Im new here to the forum. Like all of you, I was a 70's kid, and proud of it till this day. No better time to grow up. Anyway, I loved the FP Adventure People series. I had the Motorcross set, the kayak set, the Deep Sea diver, the Wilderness set, the Indy race car, the parachute, the scuba divers, the set with the sub, octopus, and helicoptor, the construction workers(which were the earliest ones). Loved them all....

My parents never bought a single Fisher Price toy.
My kids have gone through a few, though.

The only FP toys I had was the roly poly merry-go-round, and the wind-up toy radio that played Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I had friends who had some of the other toys, like the phone, the clock, and the desk, but not the little people. I guess these weren't too popular w/ black kids from Harlem.:muh:

Don't get me started. Little People have taken over my life! They're like everywhere man! Just looking at me with those smug little faces! If I didn't know better, I'd swear they were reproducing! But they kind of make me feel like Gulliver :smiley1:

I remember playing with these things even after I felt I was "too old" for them. They were just too much fun. The garage and airport were big favs.
You know looking through this, I realize that Fisher Price had an absolute GIGANTIC impact on my youth. From kids toys like the Music boxes to the Little People to the Rescue People. Wow, what a toy company!

BTW, anyone know of a good Little People websites. One where I can check to see what each playset came with.
This has a ton of info, but VERY hard to navigate.

Besides the Adventure People, I remember asking Santa for the Sesame Street Clubhouse at Christmas time in '77 or so. I did get it and loved it. Now, I look for/at them on ebay sometimes. It's great to see one.

Yeah, what great toys they've made, Brian and this set is excellent. Many of FP's toys will likely still be around and able to be played with in another 50 years or longer.

Are those Clubhouse pics from ebay? That is a very nice looking set and looks to be near complete. The only thing I see missing from it is Bert. But it does contain two of the hardest pieces to get: the yellow slide and the round yellow cable spool.
I now have about 30 complete sets and I am slowly taking pics of each one to show all the correct accessories and people for each set. I will be posting the pics in the user gallery as a reference for anyone interested in collecting these.

Yes, in fact they are. This is up for auction on ebay now. When I looked today (so, I could post some pics), this set was going for around $75.00.

Here is a preview pic of the Fisher Price Little People gallery I'm working on. This is the #192 School Bus which originally started in 1965 and remained in production until the end of the vintage line in 1990. It had undergone many changes in its 25 year history. The most notable being the Stop Sign on the side of the bus was omitted very early on. Finding one with the stop sign still attached is a difficult accomplishment as they easily broke off.
The little people themselves went through many changes from being all wood bodies & heads to all plastic. There were many different little people variations released with this set over the years. My picture shows one of the actual combinations from one of the earliest releases. The 6 children pictured are all wood and correct for the first issue of this set but the dog however was originally all Tan and is one of the rarist pieces to find. Later releases had the wood black dog with yellow collar (as shown). If you look real close you can see that all 6 kids match the picture on the side of the bus. This picture remained the same for the entire production run even though many of the children had changed.
In order for early sets to be accurate the bus people always consist of 3 boys, 3 girls and 1 dog. There are always 2 of each body color (red, blue & green); one combination of these colors for the boys and one for the girls. Plus there will always be 3 with red hair or hats and 3 with yellow hair or hats. Finding a set with the proper combination of colors takes a lot of work. Most ebay sellers tend to wrongly add whatever extra little people they have onto the bus, trying to pass it off as complete & accurate.
I am very proud of this set. Hope you enjoy it!
