Cipsa Apes

Hi everyone,

Sorry if this has been asked before, this is one for the POTA experts I think.

Did the Cipsa apes just come on type 2 brown ape bodies? I do seem to see pictures of the chimp on a tan body, is this a genuine variation?

Also, did all the apes come with hieroglyphic boots as again, I see some with general boots and even standard soldier boots?

Cispas Zauis and Corny came on tan bodies, and of course Bill came on a standard flesh body.

I bought mind loose, so I'm not 100% on this, but I believe that Corny and Zauis should have Heiro boots, and the generals should have General boots. No one should have soldier boots.

I'm still confused about the boots. I remember someone on the old forum saying that all the Cipsa apes should properly have hiero boots?

Are the Cipsa bodies identical to Mego T2 ones, or are they made out of a different material, like Ledys are?

From what I've been able to find, all the apes have the Heiro boots. The bodies are a bit softer. The Generals appear to have Heiros on the boxes.

All the Cipsa apes came with "shiny" cheaper style than the USA counterpart Heiro boots. If you buy a Cipsa ape and he has the Heiro boots but they are not shiny, then someone gave him regular USA Dr. Zaius boots. They all came on brown type 2 bodies except for Corny and Bill (I am pretty sure I've even seen Zaius with a brown body).

This is what I get for posting a response from work. Just checked out my Cispa's. ALL have the glossy Heiro boots, none have the General boots. ALL the apes, even Corny and Zaius have the dark brown body.

Again, mine were loose, except Zauis who came boxed, so this only means so much.

Same molds as USA versions. Colors vary. If you look on their backs they either have no copyright info or the info is very, very lightly pressed. Good stuff Huh?

Ive seen that page from the original Cipsa ad where they are on tan type 2's, but as we all know, those ads can differ from what was actually sold.

I think the Cipsa range is great, its a real quirky variation. I love it

What original Cipsa ad are you refering to? I've never seen it. On the box they are all pictured with brown bodies and I've never seen or owned one on a tan body.
