View Full Version : Kiss Figures: With Instruments!
Hello, Everyone.
I just had to share this GREAT DRUM SET that I got as a birthday gift from Scout, Master Of All Things 1/6 Scale.
Additionally, Scout sent me the Gibson Flying Vee that Paul is playing (yeah, I know....Paul sometimes played a black one in addition to his Ibanez, but I really like the white!) as well as the extra black and white guitar on the stand to the right of the photo.
Ace's guitar is an official Ace Les Paul Sunburst; I haven't yet found a bass guitar in my price range that I like for Gene, so he has a foam one for now.
This drum set is unbelievable!!!! So much detail and the cymbal stands are adjustable and the bass drum and one cymbal have functional foot pedals! All drums and cymbals can be arranged anyway you want. SOOOO cool!!!!!!
Thanks for looking, Everyone and THANK YOU, SCOUT!!!!!!!

They look great, but you should look at the way real drums are set up.

Cool!
I've seen shots of Paul playing a W FV during the Rock and Roll Over/ Love Gun era so it's all good.
It's always there if you get a Vinnie custom.

Very cool. I think I have the same guitar for my Ace. Some company made very nice guitars in that scale that sold in toy stores about 6 years ago. Luckily they made an official Ace Frehley one, but nothing for Gene or Paul. I ended up getting a white Les Paul for Paul. I don't recall him playing anything like that, but it looks good with him. I really wish I could get a reasonably priced axe bass for Gene (although he didn't that bass yet back during the "Love Gun" era, it would look great with the figure). I still have to get a Peter, then I'll start worrying about what I'll do for a drum set. Yours looks really nice though.

I bought this set for the 8" Kiss customs I got from Bryan. It's kind of a little small for 12 inch figures and a little big for 8", but it works regardless. Very cool looking. K, I have a printout to fit that bass drum. Download it and print it on some sticky paper if you like.

Turn the bass drum around before you stick the logo on. You've got it facing backward.

You're welcome, Buddy. Glad you like 'em.
you should put the kiss logo on the drums!
Great idea, bobbait!
Thank you, Dave Mc for the logo! It looks like it'll be great.
And, yes...I will turn the bass drum around. (whoops!)
cj,
You probably do have that same Ace guitar. Resaurus made them...they're called Pick-Ups and they did a few models based upon famous guitarists.
Thanks for the nice words, Everyone!

Awesome, that bass drum logo would be a great touch! Nice collection, I remember back in '76-'77 or so when KISS first started, they were liked very much by my friends highschool brothers.

Me, too, Speedy! *arthritic back creak! LOL!*
Thanks, Everyone!
I regret now not setting the figures up on a stage setup that I have. Maybe when I find Gene a respectable bass guitar, I'll do just that!
Thanks for the nice comments, Everyone! :smiley5:

Now all you need are some huge speaker towers and amps. Awesome set up for your KISS figures. Great work.
^ I may just have to set up my stage. *wink* If I do, I'll post more pix!
Hey! They made an "accessories" icon for customs! Thanks, guys! :D

Hi, I`m looking for a good supplier of 1/6 mini guitars, particularly like the Les Paul sunburst Gene is playing earlier in the thread. Can anyone help? Chris

Neatooooo!! I would love to borrow the instruments and pose my figures with them. Can I come over and play?
1/6 guitars are easier to find than 1/9 (mego scale) guitars. One suggestion: try the Spinal Tap figures. Very good detail on those! Also, Ace's Les Paul is a Real Guitars (? I forget the name) 1/6 scale Ace model. Here...lemme see if I can find a link.
Ah! Here it is. This is the same one I used for my Ace:

Yeah, that Ace Pickups guitar was really nice, you couldn't get a more accurate one, it was licensed and everything. The scale was great too. The only problem was that the guitar straps were too short on these. I had to cut them and make them longer so that they would hang properly on the figures. Here's how they look with my figures (I had to use a white Les Paul for Paul because Pickups didn't make anything that Paul actually played back in the day):

I've seen a few people that make custom 1/6 scale guitars, but they aren't cheap, around $30-50 each. (probably because they are hand made)
I'd love to get a "fractured mirror" Ibanez guitar for Paul and an Axe bass for Gene. The era would be a bit off, but they would look great.
^ cj,
Yes...I agree. The straps are awful. I sort of rigged mine so it'd look good for display. You can't beat these guitars for detail and price. I like the white one, too. Nice!
