I was catching up on my ebay feedback just now, when I realized I hadn't left any for the last item I won from Megosuper. Out of curiosity I clicked on his feedback profile and saw he'd been left 5 negs recently. Seems he angered the (custom)gods! Since I got my item in one piece, I'll refrain from leaving a neg. :ugh_y:

Ouch, someone's not happy. Did he really send something that sold for $2500 in an envelope,...overseas yet? That's really insane and just asking for trouble to be honest. If I ever sold something for that much money, that puppy is being sent in a bulletproof box. :smiley1:

I would hope so. Why would you even think of negging him?

Maybe because it was really poorly-packed, and he was damn lucky to get it in one piece?

So what? He got what he paid for as described. People like you are driving small sellers off ebay in droves. If you get you item as described there is nothing to say but Thank You! Wow! You don't leave a neg for what might have happened.

This one really confused me.
Bid on Spidey. Got Spidey.
Poor pack job. spidey fine or not?
Sent back cuz of withdrawn bids? Accusation of shill.
True or not, Spidey fine or not?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Meanwhile, where are sellers selling now if not eBay? What are the top places to shop that folks have enjoyed and trusted?
What I'm saying is if peeps are quick to leave negs or bad ratings ebay will not let the seller list, this really comes into play for the guy that only sells a few things a year. Bad ratings crush him.
I'm mean if the thing arrives damaged and was poorly packed then hey let the negs fly if he won't fully refund you.

Those particular two auctions were a clusterf**k from the get go, in my opinion, so it's not really surprising to see the end results. :smiley1:

Yeah If I buy something and it arrives fine but was packaged poorly i still leave a positive but just make a note that shipping could've been better

All the bidding drama aside, it appears that Lonnie was not pleased with the condition of the two expensive Spideys and the Ledy Spidey. Read the feedback he left carefully.
I am not surprised. Rudy describes nothing in detail, which begs for this situation. Please don't say "perfect" when it's not.

Zemo, I'm not sure if that "people like you" comment was directed at me, I'll assume it wasn't. I sell a good bit on ebay myself, so I certainly know the importance of feedback and the star ratings. I have NEVER left negative feedback for ANYONE in over 10 years and 3,000+ transactions, and I would never consider doing so without justification.
What I was (slightly) upset about was the poor care taken in packaging the last item I won, given the rarity and expense of the item. I had won 2 previous auctions from the seller, and those items arrived packed securely in a box. I was mildly annoyed when a few e-mails I sent asking for shipment progress/tracking info were ignored, but oh well, the figures arrived fine.
The third item I won (a $200+ figure) arrived wrapped in bubble wrap and thrown in a non-padded UPS envelope! Fortunately, it wasn't damaged, so you are correct on that point, but was the packaging acceptable considering the rarity of the item and the expense? I think not. Negative feedback would at least alert any potential future bidders to be wary of the seller's poor packaging habits.
I never considered leaving a neg; my comments were meant to be humorous, given the over-the-top quality of the recent feedback left. If my item had arrived damaged like Lonnie's straight-arm Isis, I would have given the seller a chance to make good, then MAYBE left a neutral. I never meant to imply I considered leaving negative feedback.

I was thinking that when I first saw these auctions. It seemed like he was using close to the same wording for every auction, like he was using ebay's "list similar item" option and not changing much of the wording for each new listing. That's why I noticed the "perfect" description used for many items where it was clearly not the case. And the vague descriptions coupled with the one small low quality pic used for each auction certainly didn't give one a clear enough impression of any issues each figure may have had.

"People like me?" You asked why he would even consider it, and I gave a hypothetical answer. Out of several hundreds of transactions as a buyer and seller, I've only left two negs. One was to Carl "the legend" Reeves, and the other I can't even remember. You really think it's unreasonable to *consider* giving someone a neg when they do a half-assed job of packing and shipping rare, expensive items? I don't.

People who ship poorly...whether it arrive fine or not...deserve to be at least lectured...this is to prevent future lazy azz packaging to other customers from the seller.
I once got a really nice figure...but was wrapped in wrinkled azz newspaper that smelled like fish...the figure itself didn't not suffer damage...and it did not smell in the end...but I was so pizzed the dude had sent it like that.
I gave him a neutral...now I wished I would've given him a big fat negative.

Not condoning any ones poor attitude towards shipping highly valuable items or nonchalant item descriptions, but even poorly packed, the worst case scenario is a busted t1/t2 body. Not the most expensive thing to replace as the value is in the rarity of the suit in this case. If I had won these incredibly rare items at what was deemed a fair price, I wouldn't be all that ****ed with the broken limb, wrist etc. I think item description would be the worst of the two in this case, as you can't fix that.

True. The suit is the thing in which we'll catch the webheads of the king.
…with apologies to Prince Hamlet
Azrak,
"People like you" was a bad choice of words. but I still maintain that if the item arrives in as described condition, then there is no gripe, other than maybe an email to the seller saying, wow I can't believe it made it in one peice.
I was probably wrong on in this case because Rudy needed the wake up call. I think he was probably shut down for 30 days because of his low star avg for the month.

Fair enough. I agree that it's unfair to neg someone over "what might have happened." I might still be tempted, but ultimately I would probably leave a comment warning others to specify packing, with a positive or a neutral depending on just how bad the packing really was. Or I might not say anything at all....who knows.
