Hi all,
Just found this site and hope someone can help a bit with this. As a child I had this:
kingkongplayset.JPG on Flickr - Photo Sharing! (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jonknutson/1624434298/)
Did anyone else? Who made this and in what years was it avaiable? The problem with it was, as being made of cardstock it wasn't that durable. :ape:

I've never seen that before, pretty cool though. Doesn't look like it's specifically connected with the '76 remake, and I've never heard of Mego making something like that.
Do you recall when you got this? Early 70's perhaps?
Oh, and welcome! :smiley12:

Thanks for the welcomes. The exact year escapes me. I'm think somewere between 1976-1978. It may have been inspired by the remake, but was based on the orginal Kong, since it it the Empire State Building, and came with biplanes as seen in the photo.
Storage was a problem as it 3 feet tall, at the time I was just barely taller then it was.
I believe it's proably in my attic somewere, I really need to find it. Hopefully I could still put it togother, and isn't crushed beyond use.

Very Cool. Don't pitch it if it broken. You can copy it and glue copies to card board for a custom rebuild.
