This Idiot (wish I could use a different term) lies his you know what off! Oh damn am I mad! Who is this member? I have given out a buutload of cards and NEVER asked for anything in return. Saying that we ask for money or megos is just a damn lie! This guy should be banned!

WOW! Hard to believe what a real POS this person is! Does anyone know who this is? If so he should definitely be outed!

I sure hope he does. The thing that bothered me most was when he said that members asked for money for the cards.

Sounds like a misinformed hothead. I think if it was someone with a true vendetta, they wouldn't have posted the new disclaimer, and honored Brian's request.
I love the cards, but I feel for Brian and Scott. The headaches seem to be hardly worth it. People sure know how to F up a good thing, don't they?

As for Superman and Spiderman I got them for free from Dumblor, he even wondered why people were not asking for them when he posted them....Lies, lies, lies...oh well. I know that there are a couple of people that not come thru when it comes to trading, they promised to mail the cards but they never do...
I don't think the guy is misinformed....
Here's a previous auction from his feedback.............

Heck I'm about 16-18 cards shy of a set but I would rather ask here than to buy a card from anywhere.
Is this someone who joined solely to "collect" these cards (which he has clearly made a schload of money on), or does he actually claim to be a person who gives a crap about Megos.

I've never asked for a trade either, but have been told if I want a card it has to be a trade, which is understandable

I've been offered cash, but I always refuse, and never by a member (that I am familiar with). The recent Belgian incident means I also want to know who is selling them, so I don't send them any more. If someone could PM or email me the info on this dirtbag, I'd like to know so I can avoid that mistake.

Don't know where the dude got his info from. I don't think I've ever seen any body here saying it'll cost you if want the older cards.

This is pretty low, this guy obviously joined here to get free cards so he could sell them. That's how it looks to me anyway.
And Paul, there are more auctions for museum cards in the US than in Belgium, so that remark makes absolutely no sense at all

I don't know the entire story or who this is, but it is possible that some members offered him early versions of cards and asked for cash or trade. Remember we have a lot of members here who joined just for the cards and we don't know who responded to this guy and what he said. It is possible, and I think I would be more irritated by a member who did ask for cash here on the forums.
>this guy obviously joined here to get free cards so he could sell them.
And who are the folks BUYING them?!?!? If you click on the link you'd find out how to get them for free. Must be them hardcore "gotta have 'em ALL" type colectors.
I'm scared we're gonna start seeing AFA "sealed in carbonite" cards....

The auction itself wasn't as big a bother as the notion that someone here is gaining the cards for free and privately scalping them to members.
The seller gave me the names of the people who approached them and kangaroo court will be in session soon.

This is a sad development if true. I sure hope it is a newby who is doing that. On the other hand, this guy could be lying to save his skin.

The first person he informed me about turned out to be correct, through the museum PMs no less, offering cards in exchange for cash and/or trades.

Very cool. I love that collector book. It has such nice pictures in it plus a couple of sets that never got produced.
As for people trying to profit from these cards, especially members here, it's a sad thing. Some people will take the fun right out of anything.

The Belgian remark was because I have an order pending that was going to go out to that person with a generous assortment of Museum Cards, since I figured it would be harder for your fellow countrymen to obtain them. Now that is not going to happen. (FYI - I'm having problems filling those orders anyway, I'll email you this weekend on that Thomas)
As for the US having more auctions, that is true. But I know of only two Belgians that have received cards, and one of them is selling them for a profit. Seems like 50 percent of Belgians to me. :wink_y: :rotfl:

I wish I woulda figured out that solution Brian----I was racking my brain
trying to figure out some way to help out this scenario as its been going
on for a while and nothing was minimizing it all that much----I think your
auction is probably gonna be a nice answer to the "riddle" that was bugging
me---I mean, with a (hopefully consistent) Ebay presence explaining
"what's what"--- it'd take a LOT of card craziness for the problem to keep continuing as it has

I contacted Didier to check if it was indeed him selling these, it is. I told him to stop it immediately, I await his answer now. He also told me about your problems with Diamond, but no real specifics, so I eagerly await your email.

Also, that auction is a great move Brian. I'm even tempted myself for the catalog, but then I'd be taking cards away from people who don't have any yet. Is it possible to get just a copy of that catalog?

It's sad to think that a member here would be doing that. It's bad enough when they keep turning up on eBay, but for one of us to privately try to make a buck on them makes the entire Museum look bad. I'll chip in for the pitchforks if someone else will supply the torches and rope....

I'm glad to see some smarts were finally applied to stopping the listings on e-bay, or at least slowing them down a bit~
I believe a suggested a few ideas like this to begin with, and was just told how dumb of an idea it is, and that it is just bad news to make some sort of listing on e-bay about these cards~
But that's ok I accel in giving self credit~
Glad to see some action is being taken instead of effort wasted on whining~
Good for you Brian, I knew you had it in you~ and good job by the way~

Didier has ended the auction, he didn't know they weren't meant for sale. He asked me to apologize to you all, it'll never happen again.
I guess that means Belgium is again 100% OK, eh Paul? ;)
I'm glad he ended it. I still won't be sending him new ones though. And I bought a really nice waffle maker a couple weeks ago so I can have Belgium Waffles any time I like. :wink_y:

The auctions were a smash and save for one suspicious purchase (a guy who haunts my comic haunt and calls all day long about the cards) I think the card's secondary value will deflate.
Oh and I invented the Tilde.

You may have invented the Tilde~~~~~~~~~~ But I perfected it's use~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your the best Brian~
I am serious though I am really glad you took action~~ You did a great job~
Not that you care, and I don't blame you, because I wouldn't, but I only get on you sometimes, because you and the other guys directly asscoiated with the Museum do a great job, and I expect more than whining~~
I am good at everything I do, no, let me rephrase~ Great at Everything I do, but I could have never run the museum as good as you guys do~
You know when I throw the word "lazy" around, well you guys are hustlers with little reward aside from self satisfaction, and you guys should be highly commended~
Years ago, i had a store, and star wars & comics were the backbone of my business. And this is essentially how I built my mego collection, as I would just buy every mint loose mego, carded Boxed, etc~ Well i had one case dedicated to mego sales, but nobody ever bought anything, everyone said they are corny looking~~ And to me Star wars was just run of the mill~~
I was only 25 at the time, and I closed my store in 1997, with the birth of e-bay, and when I closed my store I had a few hundered great condition megos~
And with the Birth of e-bay and I got my 1st webtv, the 1st 2 things i searched were led-Zeppelin, and mego, and low and behold I found the Museum, and was always blown away~
Throughout the years the museum has helped Megos immensely, and something no one wanted 10+ years ago, is one of the hottest things going~
Your cards, This new book are just part of the big picture~ Again, I cannot thank you guys enough~
I have my own personal gripes with certain issues and we all no what they are, and what we disagree on~ But all in all I know we have the same interests~
I only own 8 cards Dan sent me once~(And he sent me a Green Arrow) But one day I will collect the set, after I make some more friends here~
Earth to chris, I'm glad you see my point~~ Thank you~~
Wildstar~~

And I bought a really nice waffle maker a couple weeks ago so I can have Belgium Waffles any time I like. :wink_y:
Nah, that's not the same. But you're always welcome here for some REAL Belgian waffles ;)
That's like saying you have to go to France for good French Fries. I'll put my made from scratch Belgium Waffles up against yours, but you have to come to Arizona to judge for yourself. Did I mention my waffle maker is really nice? :flagwaver: :peace:
PS , NIce job on the card auction Brian. It will be interesting to see how that works out in the long run. I just hope all this doesn't discourage you guys from continuing to make them.

Actually, you need to go to Belgium too for this
