I don't own any of the Gabriel Lone Ranger series nor did I as a kid but I do have a lot of respect for it. It's one of the best made toy lines of the 70's and holds it own. Case in point this Carson City playset, what a quality product this is. I'm a playset junky mind you....

Man, that looks really cool. I remember ads on the back of comics for the 3 3/4 version.
I could easily get into the Lone Ranger line. My grandparents got me the Ranger/Silver and Tonto/Scout gift sets that were rereleased with the 80s movie. I manged to hold onto the horses, get a decent Tonto, and even a Ranger in the box. Adding onto it would be so sweet...
Maybe after I get the WGSH taken care of.

I always loved looking at this set in the Sears wishbook. What a great line!

Yeah, this looked like fun. My cousins asked for one, but they didn't get it, so they used Lincoln Logs to make their own playsets.

Damn! That brings back memories. I had the playset, but not the figures. I used it as a base for my Big Jims. Many a great adventure was had there!

yeah I just sold my carson city playset to someone here at the museum about a year ago and kinda regret it now. They just dont seem to come on ebay much.
Ever sell something and then regret it later?

Thats funny. I bought one about a year ago on e-bay. You're right, they are hard to come by. I payed a pretty penny, but don't regret it for a second. I have been trying to find the Carson City for the 3 3/4" figures, but have yet had any luck. Later!--B.

That's awesome. I had a bunch of the Gabriel LR stuff as a kid, but never even saw this playset. The closest thing I had to a LR playset was Tonto's tee-pee.
That was a great line of toys, I played with them all the time. Unfortunately, other than a few scattered bits and pieces, my childhood ones are long gone. I would love to start collecting these, but I really don't need to start buying yet another line of toys (and it looks like they don't go for that cheap these days).
