Ray Stevenson will be the new Punisher

Thomas Jane decided to pass, I thought he was really good as Frank Castle (albeit a bit puny) in a very mediocre movie, too bad.

Ray Stevenson played soldier/gladiator Titus Pullo on HBO's ROME.

I think he's a GREAT choice, this guy oozes baddass, no doubt about it, GREAT casting.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We announced back in May that Thomas Jane was walking away from the series and since then the film has gained a director (John Dahl), then lost him and has gained a new director (Lexi Alexander) and LatinoReview...

I am actually incredibly annoyed, I think Punisher had an absolute perfect cast. I smell bad new's, as soon as character's are being re-cast I see it as bad fortune for sequel's, after all aren't "the original's always the best"?
If Ray Stevenson is officially the Punisher they better change his appearance quite a bit, Thomas Jane actually looked a whole lot like the comic character.

As always, only time will tell how this will turn out.

This guy is all wrong for the part. I smell another Dolph Lungren.
Yes he was terrific in Rome and physically he fits the part, but his face just looks all wrong. He remnds me of Rikard in ST. I think the guy who played the older brother in Prison Break looks more the part.

If they make a third bad Punisher movie in a row - will they stop?

I loved him in Rome, but just can't see him as the Punisher!!! Maybe he's so good an actor that he'll win me over ... but I doubt ANYBODY is that good!!!

I liked Tomas Jane...and He's dropping out of this one, because of a BAD Script. It's not a good sign.

I liked Thomas Jane's portrayal of Punisher. But I don't know if I ever got over the fact that he was too pretty for the part. I like the look of this guy for the role, but the fact that this is a sequel to a second shot, second tier Marvel character doesn't leave me waiting anxiously either.

Casting isn't as big an issue as script and characters that make sense. The first movie failed badly at so many points.

I love the part where he's knocking down walls fighting the big russian guy and no one else hears it... because they're playing opera?

And apparently mobsters (while waiting to kill the Punisher) drink champagne?
