There are a few things that I'm missing, and I am only judging this on the basis of having one or more choice examples from each line or brand.
Stuff I still "need": Big Jim, Big Trak, Sea Monkeys, little green Army guys, and this old musical windup ceramic train engine plant holder from my baby days.
I have progressed very well and feel pleased with my:
MEGO
LEGO
Brio
Remco
Hot Wheels
Matchbox
Fisher Price
Wacky Packages
GPK
Baseball Cards
No wonder I'm tired! This has been quite a trip to the past!!

So how many people here collect and have to complete a set/line/etcetera?
And could you describe why you do that? or what makes you want to?
.....trying to keep the ball in the air......

I collect a lot of different things. Not too worried about being a completest. Try to find things I like at affordable prices. Don't have the spare cash for the super expensive ultra mint items.

I am not the Completest... Par say,.. I couldn't keep buying a figure, because of a packaging Change, Unless something was Gift Rapped in a Porno Cover or something,.. then Maybe ...
I do Have Almost every Single DC Universe Figure..., All I am missing is an Atom... I have not been More Addicted to anything in my Life right now,.. Other than Re-Discovering Megos,.. That got spendy too. :terror: I also am Building a pretty good Green Lantern Collection,.. I would like to Focus on that,.. & see where it takes me..., I think I got around 20 or So Pieces right now,.. & trying to build my Lantern Customs & Other related characters,.. to keep them in stock ..
I just buy What I like,.. No Completest here... here's what I like...
WGSH
DC Universe Classics
JLU
DC Direct
Marvel Legends / 3 & 3/4 inchers
MOC no Hole Punch Super Powers
New MOTU
New Star Wars , since the Relaunch 12 yrs or so ago .. in a Galaxy ... Far, ... Far ... Away ...
New G.I. Joe,.. I also have a pretty good loose & carded oldschool collection..
SideShow Star Wars,... & Soon the Predator figures.
& I have a pretty Large Bust & Statue Collection...., to big for my house.
& I love me some Comics !!!
Got alot of Doc Mego & Castaway figures & stuff too.

The one thing I'd like to pick up is a minty Six Million Dollar Man figure. I only seem to find ones with the roll up skin rotted off or ripped. Not sure if this is impossible like a original GI Joe Frogman suit or not. Also still wanting a Joe Seasled and a Mego Riddler.

I'm price driven ,if its at a fair cost I'll bring it home.We have a little bit of everything, from the unusual to the bizzare. Not into haveing to have everything of one thing, like to have the variety of stuff.Keeping the searching horizons vast.

.....trying to keep the ball in the air...... Only with the baseball cards because it bugs me to know i only need 2 more Cleveland Indians for the hole 69 team or 1 more Phillie for the whole 70 team etc etc so my orinigal goal was to have complete Topps sets from 74 up 74 being the first year i rember buying brand new in packs as a kid well i've done that and so now i'm after the older sets i finished 59 ,66 and 73 and need under 50 in 70,71 ,68

I collect dust. Lots and lots of dust. I have accumulated quite a collection of this fine stuff over time. One of the great things about collecting this fine stuff is that I can write my own price guide and be my own authority on the hobby. NOT!!! Quite actually, I collect just about a little of everything except for dust.
I am collecting pretty much whatever I see that makes me happy these days. I have a wide range of collectibles going on. So much that in fact that everything is in kind of disarray right now.
I have been buying stuff up at such a fast rate that I have just been sticking it in totes and putting a lid on it for the most part. Then I stack the totes up to the roof in my basement and garage. Needless to say that I keep going back to Wally's and buying more and more totes to store more stuff in.
Now I am at the point that I would really like to sort out what I do have so that I actually know what I have and still need. I would also like to display it all and take pictures here for the Museum as so many of others already have done in the past.
This is why I am in the process of having a new building built to show case my collectibles. I call it my "Man Cave". Meaning a place where I can escape the gf for a while and finally get serious about doing custom work.
I do not want to mess up my main house (my home, my castle) by turning it into a toy museum or having the aroma of harsh chemicals in the air. There is a lot of casting that I want to do. I have molds made of some great parts and accessories that I eventually want to do something with.
At some point later on down the line I may even buy a sewing machine and try to learn how to sew some custom outfits. Mainly because I just want to know how. There is a lot of cool people here at The Museum doing some really neat stuff. I have already done business with a bunch of them. Maybe some day I can join the ranks of those highly skilled people. For now I am very happy with collecting and adding items to my collection.
Mainly I just want to get into casting and sewing for the knowledge and for the fun of the hobby. Of course you would never hear me complain if I actually turned a profit at some point in time. :smiley1:
