View Full Version : They

They: I love this word, pronouns in general make it very easy to say things. Especially when names are not involved or you don't have to be specific on how many people they are. I am not mad at anyone for being frustrated or impatient, nor do I think our methods are perfect. But let me give you a little perspective on "they".

They are two guys (no more,) though they sometimes get friends and family to help, they are really the only two people running this thing. 2, two, dos, no more and depending on the day and what's going on in their lives 1.

They do it all from design, to licensing, to raising money to dealing with China.

They have "day" Jobs, this is not their "full time" job, they do all of this at night, on weekends and on any spare time they can cobble together.

They get 100s of e-mails a day, everything from my "bubble was dented" to "can you make Spider-man", it's not possible to answer everyone quickly. They sometimes have to make a choice whether to answer an e-mail or package up figures and parts to send. They sometimes realize they will take heat for not replying but in the long run people getting their stuff is better. It's a call they have to make and they know they can't make everyone happy.

They don't just put things in boxes, they have to fix, repair, package and sometimes re-do what the factory didn't do or do correctly. They are still human and though they miss a few they try very hard to make it right. But in the end they have physically put their hands on every figure and piece that gets sent, all from their personal homes.

Finally here is what They are not: perfect, web designers, marketing experts, independently wealthy, a faceless company, mean and thoughtless, uncaring, out to rip people off $25 at a time, in control of China, in control of their own lives, making any money off of these figures.

Like I said we try very hard, and it's easy to paint us as a big company looking to screw the little guy. But we are just David Lee and Jason Schiermeyer, so when you say they be clear you mean two guys doing everything they can to keep the wheels on the bus.

I am not looking for sympathy, nor am I excusing how we do business, but as we say "it is what it is". This may change once we get into distribution, but it may not. Ultimately, you and only you can decide if this is acceptable. If it is not, we are sorry to hear it and hope that things will change soon to make it so it is. Otherwise, thanks to all who have supported us and we hope things will continue to get better.

Hey Dave:

The grain of the fabric on my Phantom is off by at least two degrees on the left leg, relative to the right. Bassturd.

They is plural? Megoville never got that memo. I'm used to they being singular.

So, who are they again? :silly:

Seriously tho, I can understand how you guys must feel sometimes. Hell, sometimes I get angry in your place when I see all those impatient people *****ing about when they're gonna receive their order. Takes everything I have to not scream "BE ****ING PATIENT" at them.

You guys are A OK in my book, both halves of they

You feel the pain Paul, I know you've been there and done that too!

But seriously, thanks for all the comments. This wasn't meant as a slam to anyone, just the opposite, we appreciate each and every order, they keep us alive one more day to battle China:stars:

I just needed to explain who we were to everyone, we so often forget we are way beyond our own group of friends (new and old). Please take no offense if you are still waiting on product, just know we are diligently working on it...

Dave,
it's us fans that need to thank you guys at Cast-A-Way, Paul "Dr. Mego", and it pains me to say this, but even CTVT (for some things) for helping to keep this obsession alive and the name of "Mego" as well. If it weren't for all of you guys doing the things you do for the hobby on your own time where would it really be now? You guys have made the hobby MUCH more fun and exciting by contributing the awesome stuff you all offer and by sacrificing your time to do it while trying to make us fans happy.
I personally can't thank all of you guys enough for what you've done for the hobby and I'm very excited by the thought of what the future may bring from all of you.
Patience is Golden!
NOW WHERE'S MY STUFF?! :smiley1: :wink_y:
Seriously, you guys ROCK! :2thumbsup:

Well, THEY have done a pretty spiffy job so far. Though the wait was long, it was worth it, as THEY successfully delivered my Phantom/Achmed Early Bird Set. Just like THEY promised THEY would. And, just like the Capt. Action/Dr.Evil Early Bird Set, THEY knocked it out of the park.

Now, I joined the Cast-A-Way Club back in March, and have no doubt the figure parts I ordered with my gift certificate will arrive soon, as will the Caucasian bodies (back in stock! WOO-HOO!) I ordered a couple of weeks ago, and that I will be as pleased as I am now when they arrive. THEY have done a great job so far, despite real world concerns, and I hope THEY keep up the good work.

Now, Dave, Jason... BACK TO YOUR OARS!!!!!

You forgot to mention something about they. They could be better looking. I mean really, if they were a couple of hot toy geek chicks, then I'd be much happier. At NY ComicCon, there were a few hot toy geek chicks in spandex superhero costumes that were pretty impressive (not to mention a bunch that should run from spandex) so I know it's possible. If they would work on that aspect of things, it would be much better for all of us.

Thanks for the reality check, Dave. I guess collectors (myself included!) can be short-sighted on all the angles when focusing on a custom project or a much-anticipated toy. Hang in there, & we'll stand by you, I'm sure.

As with other vendors, a litte honest communication goes a long way to building trust & mending fences.

I think you're being greedy. I got lost for a week in Dave's eyes. Skanky or not, the man's just dreamy. I've still never seen the so-called Jason guy.

they indeed do make an awesom action figure. I just put my Cap Action, Doc Evil and Phanto on a shelf on my book case and I'm marveling at their megoey goodness.

It's thrill to see these guys done on a scale this size so that " they" are Mego compatible.

Keep up the good work boys.

I know it's frustrating folks but you will get your stuff and it's worth the wait.
