This one is based on the Mego design that turned the Star Trek Transporter tube into the Doctor's T.A.R.D.I.S. .... but this one is a shell that slips over the transporter (like the Superman Phone Booth) instead of being formed from plastic, like the Mego version. It can also work on it's own without a transporter if you don't have one handy.

You know what would be really cool, is if the TARDIS playset could be unfolded so that one would end up with a version of Tom Baker's TARDIS interior.

It would probably take a master of origami to make it work and I imagine that the walls would have to be rather thin for the construct to fold down. But, it would still be damn cool.
