Remember the guy with all the repro ape boxes found in his grandparents loft? Well he`s back trying to pull another fast one. Different username and another made up story.

Check the carpet out - it`s the same. This guy is full of it. Three carded figures found at a car boot sale - yeah, right. REPRO, REPRO, REPRO. Stay clear at all costs.

Cornelius may be real. The others are obvious fakes.

Oh my God!!! I was going to snipe that auction. Awesome eyes you have there English Paul. I will now avoid that auction.
lol same carpet same font colors. In the first auction he says he was born in 90 and in the new one he says he bought corno in the 70's.

I feel for anyone who buys from these guy. If they were his Granpas wouldn't you think they would be palitoy versions. He is in the UK. People like that are the reasons I do not deal on Ebay.
The Bradgate card fronts are very similar to the regular Mego cards.
You can tell the Soldier Ape in this auction is on a fake Mego card by the Mego circle logo in the bottom right corner. Bradgate cards naturally didn't have them. Ursus and Galen are easy to spot because they weren't released on Bradgate cards.
All three of them are in wide bubbles that lack the raised "frame" around the front, and the bottoms of the bubbles are flat instead of having "feet" at the corners. The cards themselves are also very narrow; Bradgate cards are nearly as wide as they are tall.
Scum like this don't go away for long. They're cockroaches, that keep coming back until someone turns on the light and they scurry away like the bottom feeding losers they are.

The sad thing is that someone that isn't a member of the museum will get stung and probably for big money.

This gets better - here is the dialogue I have had with this guy...
Me. "Hi. Is the Cornelius a reproduction card like the other 3 or is it original? Thanks."
Him. "Hi there i have not got a clue what are reproduction cards and what are not the cornelius i brought in the 1970's and never opened it but the other 3 i brought from a car boot last year and they cost me a lot of money so i hope there not fakes
thanks anyway."
Me. "Hi. Sorry to tell you but they are definitely fakes. Mego never made POTA figures on rectangular cards like that. They were always square. I would have thought that the boxed figures you sold recently under a different username would have made you a bit more aware of reproduction packaging. Anyway, good luck with the auction."
Him. "Okay thats twice someone has said i have already sold under another name can you tell me what the name is as i have told ebay this and they need the user name so they can check it for me"
Me. "The listing is here http://cgi.ebay.com/MEGO-PLANET-OF-THE-APES-SET-OF-10-FIGURES-ALL-BOXED_W0QQitemZ320123911091QQihZ011QQcategoryZ1401 5QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem It seems too much of a coincidence that both auctions are located in Birmingham and both sets of photos are taken on the same carpet and both are selling reproduction packaging. Your auction is misleading because there isn`t one single Palitoy card there - and yet even when advised you are selling reproduction items you still let the auction run - it`s a total con."
Him. "I have just had a look at the carpet that is a windows vista background the same one i used i have emailed lukeb12 and he lives on the other side of town to me but i have reported this matter to ebay as i am new to this and i dont want any bad feedback but i can resure you i am not lukeb12 and if you ask ebay they will confirm this for you"
I can`t believe he is trying to pass the background off as Windows Vista - It`s carpet FF sake.
This has been added to the auction now - I have just been informed that these are not Paitoy there are more likly to be Mego i only used the wording Mego/Palitoy as ebay advised me of this as i was unsure which brand was which but another ebayer has advised me that they are only Mego i am sory for the mistake... He is still trying to pass them off as original Mego....aarrrggghhh - these people do my head in. He`s been rumbled and doesn`t like it, and like Kingcarm says "The sad thing is that someone that isn't a member of the museum will get stung and probably for big money." It`s just so annoying. Rant over

No, really, it's Windows Vista. You know how XP has a "tile" option for the background? Well, Vista has carpet. I am running a nice maroon sculptured pile, but I may switch to an orange and brown berber.
I am really psyched because Vista 2.0 will reportedly have a hardwood option.

Steve - you`re not kidding are you?
I`ve got to say it`s damn clever then adding background through perspex and adding shadow and depth running away behind....

and this one even has reflection on it from the camera flash...

If it is Vista then it`s brilliant , but I still think it`s carpet :wink_y:

The guy is busted and still doesn't give up... Sad thing is when this auction is over he'll just change to another ID, but this time he won't be using the same carpet again to take his pics, making it a little harder to spot him

This is exactly what happened with his boxed Megos, he then sold them separately

FYI I'm pretty sure those other Ape cards are mine. I don't know of anyone else doing SuperCams sized Apes cards besides me, and they certainly look like my cards.
If any ebay sleuthing experts can find his email, I'll try to verify that I sold him the cards. I HATE to think he's passing them of as real.

it is because of scums like this guy that i refuse to bid on any socalled mint in package figures and why i steer away from high dollar figures on e-bay, i would rather wait for a board member to offer one here for sale i may have to pay a liitle more but i have more faith in the item being as calmed
