I am so proud of my son. He just recently graduated from boot camp in Parris Island and is now a Marine. My pride and joy is beyond words, and I wanted to share his achievement with my mego friends. I'm both happy beyond the definition of joy, yet scared beyond the ability to express it properly. I just pray God looks over him and ALL of those who choose to pick up the noble task of defending this country. True heroes indeed. Here he is, my son...

Thanks guys. He's reading these comments with a smile on his face. You've made his day. He wants me to tell each of you he appreciates all of the kind words. He also wanted me to post this thought they all learned which got them through some of their toughest moments -
"The more we sweat in peace, the less we bleed in war."
I'm counting on it...

Congrats. My son gradurated last summer and is now stationed at Camp Fuji. You should be proud of you son and proud of youself for raising him in such a manner he was able gradurate. Keep him safe for his ten day leave. They can act a little reckless during thier first leave cause they dont know what to do without someone yelling at them every minute. Welcome to the family :wink_y:

MIB41,
Just to let you in on something that many feel.
I tell alot of parents of soldiers this; As a veteran of the first Gulf War, I hated hearing how scared and worried people were for me. If he goes over there, just keep telling him how proud you are of him and you are praying for him, but don't harp on how scared or worried you are for him. It kind of clouds the mind having to worry about people worrying about you, if that makes sense.
I cannot really explain it and sounds a little selfish, but it is real.
Any other war veterans here know what I am talking about?
