I've actually seen a couple of these first hand. The sprinkler jet twice. Also seen some real bad ones where guys lost fingers and some other severe injuries. Forklifts aren't toys they're extremely dangerous vehicles when not treated properly. The non serious ones can be quite funny. Saw a guy drive a forklift onto a truck not rated for the weight of the forklift. Got on the truck and it sunk about 2 feet lower than the dock he drove off from. Funny as hell. We had to get the biggest forklift we had to lift it out of the truck and back up on the dock. Trucks suspension was completely collapsed. Saw a guy wedge one into a box truck that was about 2 inches too short. Had to remove the top of the forklift to get it out.

I know a guy that got 4 of his fingers cut off messing around with a Hyster forklift by sticking his hand in the engine... (it was a fuel oil model)
Lucky sob was rushed to the hospital quick enough that they were able to reattach them all.

I drove a forklift back in the day. You have to pay attention to your surroundings at all times, especially with loads you can't see around or over. I never did do anything stupid while operating one.

I used to drive a forklift when I worked in a warehouse at Universal Studios. I was always afraid I was going to drop a skid full of boxes and kill someone. :smiley1:
