G.I. Joe Kung Fu grip at Walmart

Just caught news that Walmart is going to be releasing 5 different 12 inch. AA Kung FU grip figures exclusively at Walmart in August for $10 a piece.

    They are:

    Man of Action
    Air Adventurer
    Land Adventurer
    Sea Adventurer
    African American Adventurer.

I realize they are repros. but a nice way to pick up a bit of nostalgia a good price.

Very cool! Hopefully they'll be at our local Wal-Mart then (distribution usually sucks!)

I don't live near a Walmart! Is anyone willing to pick some up for me if I send them $$?

Well, I don't have a car, and Oakland doesn't have diddly squat. Oh Hector! Oh Scott! Fellow Oaklanders, do you know where a Walmart is, and if so, could I persuade you to pick up a couple of Joes on your next visit?

I'd hold off on sending the troops, since they don't come out until August.

I am sure someone will be more than happy to pick them up and mail them to you when the time comes though, just remember to ask when they are confirmed on the shelves.

              There's a WALMART in Oakland.

It's on Hegenberger Road (going to the airport off 880).

I'll be picking these up. I love the classic looking GI Joe stuff. I can't wait to get them. Is the price confirmed? It seems a little low, although I'm not complaining.

^^^ Yeah, that price does seem a bit low. Are you sure these are 12 inch? They are bringing back the kung fu grip name to the Sigma Six line.

                    Where are the 12'' figures?
In celebration of G.I. JOE with the Kung Fu Grip the brand is releasing 5 vintage 12'' figures at Wal-Mart in August 2007. Beyond that…anything is possible.

Sounds like the Hot Topic and other limited releases caused someone at Walmart's toy buying group to pay attention. Sadly it proves that Walmart is big enough to determine whether retro toys ever make it to wide release, you just have to hope that someone over there becomes nostalgic for Mego figures someday.

I'm just going by the Master Collector rag I just received yesterday.

It has pictures of all of the Wal-Mart exclusives, said it had a suggested retail price of $10, would be available in August for a limited time only.

That's really all I know other than the figure assortment which I already posted.
                      __________________________________________

I should add that these are 12 inch figures. Hot Topic and Urban Outfitters had some last year and they were only $14.99.

With WalMart's purchasing power, I'm sure they can sell them for $10 and still make a profit.

                        That is SWEET news!!
But unfortunatly they will be gone withen hrs or a day at the most, at least at my Walmart anyway, and will be all over eBay for about triple the price labled as rare and HTF....

I want the Man of action, Air adventurer if it is in the correct orange suit, unlike the incorrect past ones from Urban outfitters and Maijer stores, Sea Adventurer, and the AA Adventurer...

I won't even bother with the Land Adventurer, you only need so many of them.
