What is that weird looking lettering? It looks like it comes up instead of an aphostraphy(sp?). I've just started noticing it a lot, especially on youtube.

The strange "E" is the euro sign, like $ for dollar

It occurs when you type a word in one font and then import (cut, copy, paste) the word into another program that does not have that specific font. The new program can read the alphanumeric keystrokes of an unknown font, but special apostrophe marks and other symbols it may not recognize. So it just substitutes the unrecognized keystrokes with whatever symbols it thinks match.
