My cousin insists that I read this series. I never say no to him. :-)
But seriously, it sounds fascinating.
Does anyone have the first compiled volume and wouldn't mind letting me borrow it to read?
I dunno if it's collectible and you wouldn't want to mail it around, in which case I understand.
Thanks!

See if your local library system has it.

I just checked mine and they have the Absolute Sandman by Gaiman.

Nah, that book has been reprinted many times, I'm sure you can find something much cheaper. Sandman is a wonderful series, there really isn't anything else like it, and it just gets better and better as it goes along. It's beautifully written and filled with many fascinating characters (and Gaiman ties many obscure or forgotten DC Universe characters into the story in amazing ways), I can't recommend it highly enough.

It's definitely a good read...$60 isn't bad, considering the price of the individual issues if you were hitting the comic shops.

For $60, I'd say you're looking at the Absolute version. The first volume, Preludes and Nocturnes, is still in print and goes for about $20 new. Amazon's got it herehttp://www.amazon.com/Sandman-Vol-Preludes-Nocturnes/dp/1563890119/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1236100208&sr=8-1 for $13.59.
