So who's making this? The body looks like CTVT, but the suit looks like Doc MEGO... anybody know?

Looks pretty cool to me.

The likeness is not really there but it's the best Obama figure I have seen.

He looks old as an action figure and quite frankly, I think this president is the youngest looking (sorry JFK) president we have had. Don't really like the figure myself but a good attempt.

Mego like Presidents would be a fun line. I think its the detailed paintjob that gives it a bit of aging. The sculpt looks pretty good, tho.

You're right it does look like one of Doc's suits. Perhaps it's a new EMCE range?
It may just be a custom figure, i've seen a couple of 1/6 heads on ebay. Ada Chan does one too

Yea... I don't know it was the tag line from GIZMODO... I thought it was kinda neat. Though the head does look a little too old/aged now that it's mentioned... I was hoping there was a new player in the arena of 8 inch figures, or perhaps CTVT was popping back up...

Looks good. Although I didn't and wouldn't vote for him, I vote yes on the figure. But it needs a blue suit and the head needs to be a tad smaller. Some have said it looks too old for Obama but I think it's more of a subliminal impression because of the way the light bouncing off the hair makes it look a bit grayish.

I think the Head Looks somewhat Accurate, to most of his Features.
I believe it is the paint job that Cripples the heads likeness, & hence makes him look a bit too old.

Mark called me last week looking for a huggy bear so he could put this together. I wanted to overnight him a body but all of my collection was in boxes.
I didn't know anything about it prior. He has mentioned a new 8" type body but its gonna be a little different.
I know more about his other projects but I am sworn to secrecy, I can say that the boy is really coming up with some sweet ideas.

This sounds very interesting. Is Mark gonna make some sort of announcement soon?
I wonder if Robot Chicken has anything to do with this? It'd be cool to see a line of characters from them. I just hope they don't use their modified bodies, lol.

Nice... I say the more the merrier! The more figures we can put out in 8 inch format the better for everyone... We need to prove this is a viable format... We will be in the next previews with CA/DE and the Phantom and Achmed, Doc will still have Trek and Apes and NOTLD(?) if Mark goes into distribution it'll be an 8 inch figure fest!
Good news indeed!

I don't think that head is as bad as the photo suggests. It's just very poorly lit. It's not great, but it's a step up from the Hot Toys 12" Obama.

I thought about doing a bunch of these for my daughter to have fun with back when they were teaching Presidents in her school. I decided it would have been a pain to do 40 some Presidents and shot the idea out the window. :)

Nothing I'd ever want, I'm not into celebrity figures, but it's always cool to seem more Mego-like figures.

You wouldn't have to make 'em all, several companies already made a couple :wink_y:
Besides, doing a big project like that, is fun. Look at wyldpny and his Star Trek TOS customs or me and my Batman 1966 customs. :wink_y:

I like it. I don't think the likeness is bad but the lips are too dark and smiley and skin tone is off. However, it's just a dolly.....
It's nice to hear there might be another choice of bodies out there too. I can't wait to see more.......
