Sorry about the bad pic. I'll try to get a better image this weekend.
I tried a different technique on the boots and glove cuffs. Instread of finding the right color vinyl or pleather I bought some lamb skin and painted it so that the color would be consistant through out. Also, since it's actually leather I pulled out some old leather craft tools that I haven't touched since I was a kid and formed the raised areas rather then glueing extra material to the patterns.
The paint used was Liquitex Acrylic Artist Colors (*Student Grade) with Acrylic Gloss Medium used as a primer.
*Save some money and use the Student Grade paints. As long as your not mixing colors, the Student Grade paints will work just as well as the expensive stuff.

The image on the left is a photo taken without a flash. The image on the right was taken with a flash and then I tweaked it a bit in photoshop.

Troy is that the body you were working on?

Troy is that the body you were working on?
No. I used a Doc Mego body with added stuff (Upper arms, hands, head & Boot feet). I'll probably use this recipe for a while. I'm not happy with Cavebody 1.0 (See my Fighting American) and have started making Cavebody 2.0

Nice job! I have a ***** of a time sewing vinyl together. I couldn't imagine leather.
Did you use that Kung Fu Panda Pez head? I was going to use that tiger one for Mr. Tawney. Nice job once again!! :animal-smiley-040:

The lambskin is thin enough to run a needle threw, but I like to cut backing strips and glue the boots together. That way I don't have to deal with a standing seam when I put the boots on the figure.

I haven't gone anywhere. I'm afflicted with the duel curse of the customizer. I'm time challenged and work with all the speed of a glacier.

In all truth, I am just "getting into" the sewing aspect of it all. My girlfriend has trained me well. With tough materials like that, I usually use a thimble to poke it through. If it is too tough, the fabric glue comes in handy. Just sucks the first two minutes where you gotta press the material together tight to get the fabric glue to "bite". :animal-smiley-040:

I'm not familiar with the character, but that is just terrific. Lovely paints.
Is the head sculpt yours?

Oh, he's lovely! Superb! I love that headsculpt!
The costume is sweet, and those boots must have been a right ***** to make out of leather.
Is he from a Japanese cartoon or comic?
I think he'd make a nice boyfriend for Tigra from the Avengers.

He's from 70's live action Japanese TV.
After sleeping with Skrull Hank Pym I hear the Tigra is keeping a low profile.:googly:

Well, even women have moments when common sense goes flying out the window.
Did the character have a tail? I never got a chance to watch a lot of Japanese stuff as a kid, due to the fact that there was no such thing as paid cable back in the 70's.
Is the program on DVD? If so, where can I get my greedy paws on it?
Are you planning on making more of those heads? You should, they are great!
Oooh! Could you make a King Thun, The Lion Man from the Flash Gordon cartoon?

My wife says that all the time.

No tail. He did have a motorcycle that he could "transform" into a jet propelled super bike. I tried to find a 1/9 scale 70's Kawaski to use as a prop with the figure, but had no luck.
I discovered the character at a concert. The band was showing clips from 70's Japanese TV while they played. Saw the Tiger 7 clip, did some digging around and walla!

You can get DVD's here:
Henshin Video (http://www.angelfire.com/ny/henshin/)
go to the "human sized heroes" page and scroll down to Iron Man TIGER SEVEN. Paul has lots of good stuff, including the Japanese Spider-Man.
Are you planning on making more of those heads? You should, they are great!
Thanks! I'm not planning to sell that particular head. When I initially posted images of the head I had a lot of request from customizers that wanted to use it for Tawky Tawny. I just couldn't allow that.
Oooh! Could you make a King Thun, The Lion Man from the Flash Gordon cartoon?
AH MAN! I LOVE FILMATION FLASH GORDON! Mego bodies are perfect for that series.
I'll get around to that someday.

Aw fooey! No subtitles! Or even the option for English subtitles!
Everything is in Japanese, which I don't speak or understand.
Oh well, c'est la vie.

Yea. That can be annoying. However, those cats used that same formula for every episode of every show of every series. It's pretty easy to pick up on what's going on.
Also, some of the sound effects used are hillarious!

Wow -- I feel lucky to have gotten one of those heads a FEW years back.... before Fighting American, 3D man, and Manhunter.... (wow this guy has been in the works). I had to swear that I wouldn't make a Tawky Tawny with it. I think you took pity on me and my fascination with Henshin Heroes....
Fantastic figure Troy!!! Can't wait to see what is next.
